Field Marketing Manager SEA & India

The Field Marketing Manager position is responsible for all regional marketing supporting sales in their specific region. In this role, you will support our growing SEA/Korea & India region. 

A successful Field Marketing Manager has substantial understanding of sales-focused marketing, as well as our audiences of enterprise IT leaders, IT ops practitioners, and developers. They enjoy taking charge of regional marketing programs, detailed planning, proactive communication, and flawlessly delivering memorable marketing experiences that support our sales goals.

You will be an integral part of the APAC Field marketing team, responsible for accelerating revenue growth and brand recognition in the SEA & India region. In this role, you will develop the strategic Go-To-Market plan alongside SEA & India Regional Leaders to execute aligned marketing activity across the region. This role will focus on building regional programs to generate market awareness, produce quality pipeline, accelerate the sales cycle, and bolster customer relationships.

This role will report into the Regional Marketing Leader APAC. We are focused on candidates located in Singapore.

What you'll do in this role 

  • Create, expand, and accelerate sales opportunities through regional and account-focused marketing execution and managing marketing campaigns that promote our products and/or services, within marketing defined strategy.
  • Be an advocate for the sales region you support and help the rest of the marketing department understand their priorities.
  • Partner with the Regional Sales Leader to develop the SEA & India Marketing plan, integrating quarterly sales and marketing requirements to support regional pipeline and revenue goals.
  • Create GTM Strategy and Execution plan for demand generation programs across third-party, partner and hosted events,, in-person and virtual experiences, and roadshows.
  • Be an advocate for the marketing department and help the sales team you support understand the marketing department's priorities.
  • Decision making and discretion regarding event and campaign selection and planning in support of regional sales goals.
  • Regional event and campaign strategy, decision making, and onsite management.
  • Ensure all events and marketing campaigns are delivered on time and within budget, forecast, measure impact of marketing plans on sales cycles  and report on their effectiveness, optimising as needed.
  • Following the GitLab process, project managing all campaigns from beginning to end ensuring they meet the target objectives.
  • Own the planning and execution of key sales/marketing plays to deliver against upsell/cross-sell targets and key account penetration.
  • Maintain ongoing communications and be the go-to marketing resource with the regional sales leaders, sellers, SDRs/BDRs.
  • Budget and Vendor Management

We're looking for 

  • Past experience delivering, accelerating, and expanding sales pipeline through regional marketing to SEA & India  markets. 
  • 8+ years of marketing experience  (software/technology preferred).
  • Exemplary communication skills without a fear of over communication. This role will require effective collaboration and coordination across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent strategic thinking skills with ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Enthusiasm and drive to meet KPI’s within the given resource and budget parameters.
  • Capacity to empathize with the needs and experiences of IT leaders, IT ops practitioners, and developers.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Unmistakable evidence of working independently with curiosity and creativity.
  • Bachelor's degree, emphasis in marketing preferred.
  • Self-motivated, able to work autonomously and communicate with remote management for extended periods of time.
  • Knowledge of Marketo, Salesforce, and Tableau is preferred.
  • You share our values, and work in accordance with those values.
  • A passion and substantial understanding of the developer tools, IT operations tools, and/or IT security markets.
  • Experience with supporting both direct sales and channel sales teams.
  • Travel up to 50%.
  • This role will require travel, please review our current travel policy and guidance to ensure you are comfortable with the requirements.
  • Ability to use GitLab.
