As the Senior Manager of Color and Artwork Development, you will be the point person responsible for the delivery of timely and cost efficient color and decoration of new product launches and maintenance of packaging business activities, including brand standards. You will work closely with external vendors and internal teams - Packaging Development, Product Development, Design, Project Management, Sourcing and Quality - to ensure we’re bringing the best customer experiences to life. This position requires a self-motivated professional with deep functional expertise, experience driving organizational transformation, and strength in understanding and communicating design direction, while keeping supply chain and manufacturing impacts top of mind. This role will report directly to the Director of Packaging Development. 

Expectations 

  • Deep understanding of color and knowledge of how to assess color matching development on different materials
  • Oversee the execution of Color Matching activities for all components, in partnership with Packaging, Creative and our vendors 
  • Drive C&A deliverables, team, and vendor adherence to key dates in accordance to the validated timelines
  • Propose technical remedies, collaborating with a diverse team to enhance quality standards, minimize expenses, respect project complexity and minimize time to market
  • Ensure the aesthetic consistency of the brand across all packaging color and artwork touchpoints 
  • Complete risk analysis on decoration as part of the packaging driven FMEA
  • Full ownership of all brand packaging standards. Manage color range board approvals between internal cross functional teams and vendors. Ensure standard compliance
  • Audit existing color and artwork operational procedures, implementing best-in-class processes cross-functionally and externally
  • Manage projects to ensure launch timing, product quality, and design integrity are on time and within agreed upon cost objectives
  • Ensure no first reception rejections due to missing color standards and defect panoplies
  • Knowledge of supplier capabilities as key input in conception and development meetings
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and novel product deco methods, including those that prioritize sustainability
  • Ownership and awareness on development spending against packaging development budget (production color sample costs, on-site press approvals, ect)

Qualifications 

  • 6+ years experience in development
  • Concentrated experience in the prestige beauty industry with proven development experience in color, fragrance, skin-care categories
  • Proficient communication skills (written & verbal), to be able to communicate effectively with all levels of our organization and our suppliers
  • Must be team oriented and able to create strong relationships with all cross functional partners
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple complex projects in tandem
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
  • Some domestic and international travel may be required
  • 5 Month Contract    

In accordance with the applicable law, the following represents a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum compensation range for this position:

  • The estimated annual pay range for this role is $70.00 - $85.00 per hour depending on experience and background 

Compensation for the role will be determined based on permissible, non discriminatory factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience.
