As a Menu (Product) Planner for HelloFresh Australia based in our Chippendale Office, you’ll play a key role in shaping our menu strategy, ensuring a data-driven, cost-effective, and customer-first approach. You’ll help craft diverse, high-quality, and exciting meal options while balancing supply chain realities and operational efficiency. This role does not involve developing recipes or designing the menu from a culinary perspective. Instead, it focuses on strategic menu planning, making it an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong analytical background and the ability to see the big picture. By collaborating closely with Procurement, Culinary, Marketing, and Finance, you’ll influence both long-term and short-term menu planning strategies, making an impact on what lands on the plates of thousands of customers every week.
You will…
- Design and optimise weekly menus using our in-house Assortment Tool (GAMP), balancing costs (COGS), customer preferences, and supply chain factors.
- Manage one of HelloFresh Australia’s menu portfolios, overseeing 60 recipe slots and 150 modular options per week.
- Partner cross-functionally with Procurement, Culinary, Marketing, and Finance to align menu planning with business goals and customer expectations.
- Use data-driven insights to refine recipe selections, reduce waste, and optimize ingredient usage, including high-cost items and seasonal availability.
- Lead quarterly menu planning, ensuring financial targets, budget alignment, and operational feasibility are met while continuously improving menu planning processes by identifying opportunities to simplify complexity and enhance efficiency.
You have…
- 5+ years of experience in menu planning, product management, or food-related operations.
- Strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel, Tableau, SQL, and ideally Python.
- Experience with financial metrics like COGS and recipe performance tracking.
- Proven the ability to manage large-scale recipe portfolios, balancing cost, quality, and feasibility.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience working cross-functionally with Procurement, Culinary, Marketing, and Finance teams.
