The Role
We frequently look for Senior Software Engineers to join our development team at Hitachi Vantara Engineering. This team is responsible for designing, developing, and testing our Hitachi NAS Platform and future products. While we may not have an immediate opening, we anticipate hiring for this role in the near future, and we encourage talented engineers to express their interest.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping technical solutions, driving the development of high-quality software, and contributing to the entire development lifecycle. You’ll be part of an agile, multi-disciplinary team, working alongside experts in software, testing, FPGA, and hardware.
Suppose you have a strong background in C++ development for embedded systems, experience with the NFS file-sharing protocol, and a passion for solving complex technical challenges. In that case, we’d love to stay in touch for future opportunities.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software solutions for our storage and NAS products.
  • Develop high-performance C++ software for embedded systems, interfacing with custom hardware and a hardware-based file system.
  • Focus on NFS file-sharing protocol development and enhancements.
  • Collaborate in an agile scrum team.
  • Diagnose and resolve customer-reported issues.
  • Work closely with test engineers to ensure robust automated regression test coverage.
  • Coach and mentor less-experienced developers.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree in Computer Science (or a related discipline) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong C++ programming experience in embedded/kernel environments.
  • Expertise in multi-threaded programming.
  • Deep understanding of the NFS protocol, with NFS 4.2/NFS over RDMA knowledge being a plus.
  • Experience in Python.
