Category, Commercial Planning & Insights Manager

This is a permanent, full-time role. You will be based in our Liverpool Street office with hybrid working available.

About the Role

This is an exciting and multifaceted role to join the JUUL business as we embark on our next phase of growth. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively across our Sales, Trade Marketing, Finance, Revenue Management and Operations teams. Utilising all available category and commercial data you will be in a unique position to identify opportunities and risks and ultimately drive both the category and commercial strategic agenda. In addition, you will continue to build on our already strong category leadership position with our customers as we continue to disrupt the tobacco category and transition the world’s one billion adult smokers away from combustible cigarettes.  There is genuine opportunity to gain further experience across different functions within this position and the scope to truly make the role your own as the company continues to expand and innovate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Influence and lead both internal and external stakeholders at all levels through insight, producing clear, concise and compelling propositions that distil large quantities of data into digestible formats;
  • Work collaboratively with our customers to identify opportunities to grow their E-Cigarette category, bringing a unique category vision and true category first lens to determine macro space allocation, ranging and merchandising decisions;
  • Ensure all propositions are grounded in insight with the consumer at the heart;
  • Evaluate commercial effectiveness of JUUL and competitor activities to refine and optimize promotional mechanics and activation for different channels and routes to market;
  • Identification, tracking and evolution of key KPIs as both customers and the category evolve;
  • Comfortable interpreting, navigating and manipulating value chains to model commercial propositions for JUUL and the customer and forecast Gross Rev, Net Rev and Gross Margin;
  • Manage accrual positions within key retail partners; and
  • Input into quarterly planning cycles and AOP setting.
  • Support wider team with adhoc duties/projects where required;
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required

What you’ll bring:

Essential

  • A commercial mindset and strong understanding of marketing and sales principles;
  • A naturally curious self-starter with a constant growth mindset, always looking for opportunities to optimise the business both internally and externally with a clear focus on the ‘so what’ to ensure all insight is actionable;
  • Highly competent in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment, balancing competing demands of stakeholders and managing multiple work streams concurrently;
  • High degree of numeracy and ability to see the bigger picture; and
  • Ability to navigate a commercial value chain.

Desired

  • Two to Five years experience in a Sales / Category / Revenue Management position within an FMCG environment; and
  • Comfortable using retailer specific software (e.g. IRi, Nielsen, Nectar etc.).
