ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Mountain View or San Francisco California. In this role you will drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yields, productivity, and error-proofing. Additionally, you will design and implement new fixtures, overseeing the process from initial specification through to full deployment. You will succeed in this position if you possess high character, energy, and an unwavering attention to detail, thriving in a hands-on, collaborative environment alongside engineers, technicians, and contract manufacturers. As a self-starter by nature, you will work with internal teams and external vendors to develop and deliver robust automation systems for prototype lines, adhering to guidelines and focusing on hardware development for equipment interfaces.

  • Perform design review of Manufacturing equipment and tooling related to new product launches.
  • Determine the root cause of equipment and system test failures.
  • Execute equipment design and process qualification/verification activities to qualify the machines (FAT/ SAT).
  • Excellent documentation skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing across all levels of the organization.
  • Support designing and building a complete automation system to support our new products launch.
  • Support system qualification and ongoing system upgrades at contract manufacturing sites.
  • Troubleshooting mindset - an ability to systematically and effectively break down a system or process into subparts to identify failures and troubleshoot to component level.
  • Produce machine qualification requirements, design of experiments and failure analysis.
  • Deep understanding of machine design/qualification including calibration, correlation, capability, repeatability and reproducibility.
  • Develop reports to statistically analyze measurements and optimize pass/fail criteria with deep understanding of data analytics and statistical method.
  • Must be available to travel 20-30% including domestic/international destinations.

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-8 years of industry experience in integration, design of equipment and automation.
  • Deep expertise with system design and integration and high volume manufacturing.
  • Technical expertise in designing automation for handling high precision processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in mechanics, materials and thermal stress.
  • Experience in both development and manufacturing environments.
  • Advanced knowledge with SoildWorks.
  • Engineering knowledge of mechanical engineering sciences (mechanics, machine design, dynamics and manufacturing processes) with the ability to apply these principles to solve customer challenges.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for creation of manufacturing drawings.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Systems Engineering.

SALARY RANGES:
Salary varies by role, level and location, and is dependent on the cost of labor in a given
geographic region among other factors. These ranges may be modified at any time.
SALARY RANGE:
$127,000$175,000 USD
