In this role, you will help build and test key hardware products for Kodiak autonomous trucks.  We’re looking for someone to be both hands-on with our products as well as an experienced technician who is able to support a diverse set of technical projects. An ideal candidate is someone who is excited to collaborate with a diverse and dedicated team.

On a given day at Kodiak, you will:

  • Build high quality harnesses, cables, and enclosures per Engineering documentation
  • Perform testing and test documentation per Engineering direction
  • Perform soldering, mechanical assembly, harness routing and subsystem builds
  • Manage BOMs and lab inventory
  • Support harness library updates
  • Organize and manage lab equipment (power supplies, scopes, probes, thermal cameras)
  • Organize and manage prototype test setups/fixtures given wiring diagrams, schematics, and wiring harness drawings
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment throughout builds and engineering tests.
  • What you'll bring:

  • 5+ years of experience working in an R&D or development lab environment in close collaboration with engineering staff.
  • Experience with prototype builds, testing and operating test equipment
  • Experience reading and building harnesses from harness drawings
  • Comfortable using soldering iron, multimeter, and crimping tools.  Experience with oscilloscopes would be nice to have.
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with other individuals in a team or project setting
  • You are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others.
  • Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity; balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness

  • The annual salary range for this full-time position in California is $32/hr - $60/hr + bonus + equity + benefits. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
