We are looking for a Vehicle Integration Engineer experienced in new product introduction and system-level integration work. The role will work closely with the rest of the hardware, software, and operations organizations to deploy, manage, and continually improve our growing autonomous fleet. 

In this role you will:

  • Lead the support efforts of our vehicle operations team helping to diagnose issues quickly and mitigate fleet downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and debug field issues related to mechanical, electrical and thermal management systems as well as issues related to hardware, firmware, and software interactions. Analyze system failures, identify root cause, and propose corrective actions for subsystems.
  • Develop and improve the monitoring and auditing of fleet issues. Document and report out insights to the Engineering team. 
  • Build and specify tools and automation to advance Kodiaks diagnostics capabilities using tools such as Kibana.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide feedback/suggestions to improve reliability of future systems. 
  • What you'll bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in relevant fields
  • BS or MS, or equivalent experience, in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other related technical field.
  • Strong system analysis and problem solving skills; understanding and debugging complex systems is exciting for you. 
  • Hands on. You are just as comfortable with a wrench as a keyboard. 
  • A team leader. Whether formally or informally, you have previously played the lead role on several projects. You take ownership and drive the team to deliver exceptional results
  • Great communicator. You have experience writing clear, concise, and detailed documentation. You are skilled in leading and participating in cross-functional design reviews.
