Job Description:
Lincoln International is seeking a Head of Marketing in Europe to join its Global Marketing Team. The role will be based in London and report to Chicago based Chief Marketing Officer, with dotted line reporting to the Co-heads of Europe. This person will lead strategy development and project management of key marketing campaigns for Europe with a focus on positioning Lincoln’s industry and product groups while enhancing the Lincoln brand in each geography. In addition to leading Europe-based marketing staff, the incumbent will provide management and mentorship to the team’s Mumbai based staff (3).
This person will develop strong relationships with industry, product and geographic leaders to develop marketing initiatives that address their unique needs while demonstrating the core tenets of the firm’s global brand. Making meaningful connections across borders is key to leverage lessons learned, share best practices and offer informed strategic counsel.
This role requires a good ability to listen without diagnosing, creativity and curiosity, and the capacity to flex between varied needs and styles of various leaders. It also requires a keen ability to connect similar goals and initiatives to drive maximum efficiency of resource use and spend, and collaborate closely with the Industry and Product Marketing Directors in U.S. for global ideation and integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acts as primary point of contact into the Global Marketing Team for industry, product and geographic leaders in Europe, understanding their unique marketing objectives and needs and leading cross-disciplinary teams within the marketing organization and with external agencies to execute against respective group priorities
- Oversee all aspects of brand-building and marketing projects including scope, connections to other parts of the organization, identifying points of leverage, timelines, budget, quality, ROI, and communication to stakeholders’ fullest satisfaction and in line with the firm’s overall positioning
- Create and lead the execution of project plans and revise as appropriate to meet continuously changing needs of the business
- Identify meaningful connections and similarities across groups’ strategic priorities to create cross-group go-to-market strategies, accelerate activity, measure and report on results, and share marketing best practices across the groups
- Ideate on new approaches, consider where concepts can be scaled to benefit the whole firm, and bring firm-level resources and ideas forward to build stronger group and individual brands
- Tap into resources of the team to generate integrated marketing programs that come to life across marketing platforms and strengthen the reputation of Lincoln overall
- Act as point of escalation internally and with partners for any issues that may arise
- Keep track of lessons learned and share with internal team members
- Lead development of decks, meetings and presentations as needed
Professional Experience/Qualifications:
- Progressive responsibilities in leading marketing strategy, planning and execution, leading teams to deliver successful outcomes, preferably in a professional services or financial services organization
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills who can work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and use time management skills
- Strong problem solver who knows how to ask the right questions, leverage data insights and make recommendations with diplomacy
- Easily flexes to the constantly evolving needs of a company in growth mode
- Genuine passion for marketing and communications, project management, and innovation
- A good understanding of, or experience with, brand positioning and messaging, digital marketing (web, email, social), and audience segmentation and targeting
- Travel, including around Europe and to U.S. required
Education/Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is a plus
- 12+ years of experience in marketing, PR, and Communications roles are required, ideally in a professional services environment
- Proven experience in marketing leadership roles, with a track record of developing and executing successful marketing and communication strategies
- Strong interpersonal abilities and enthusiasm for leading and inspiring others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on executive ready communications and crafting recommendations with supporting evidence
