The Private Company Coverage Group (PCCG), based in London, is seeking to hire an Analyst to join its dynamic and growing team. This position offers a strong foundation for individuals looking to build a career in deal origination, working closely with senior team members and industry bankers across a wide range of sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
As an Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the origination of sell-side mandates and bolt-on acquisition opportunities. You will work under the guidance of senior PCCG professionals and contribute to a range of strategic initiatives, including:
- Conducting sector-specific industry research to identify emerging trends, key themes, and areas of strategic interest;
- Building detailed market maps with relevant company-level data across priority sectors;
- Acting as the primary liaison with the offshore research team in India, including assigning tasks, reviewing outputs, and providing regular feedback and training;
- Supporting bolt-on acquisition searches for key private equity-backed portfolio companies;
- Updating and maintaining data within Salesforce, ensuring accurate tracking of market mapping and outreach activities;
- Assisting in business development and pipeline generation efforts in collaboration with bankers and the broader PCCG team;
- Participating in industry conferences to support networking and business intelligence efforts;
- Engaging in direct outreach to potential targets (e.g., via email and LinkedIn), alongside senior team members, once core competencies are well established.

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of research capability, commercial awareness, and a strong desire to grow within a high-performing team. Key qualifications and attributes include:
- 1–2 years of experience in a business development or research-oriented role, ideally within an expert network, venture capital or private equity firm, M&A advisory, or consulting environment;
- Proven experience conducting industry research and developing market maps with comprehensive company information;
- A strong interest in expanding research and analytical skills, including the ability to assess business models, perform high-level financial analysis, and understand competitive dynamics;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a desire to develop client relationship capabilities over time;
- Effective presentation skills, with confidence in delivering insights internally and externally;
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a results-driven mindset;
- Fluency in English (both written and verbal); and
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and other relevant research tools.
