FP&A Manager - Manufacturing play an essential role in developing and executing the company vision by supporting financial results through insights, decision support, and accurate planning. You will understand business operations while developing tools, metrics, and processes to provide information that drives action and improvements. You will ensure information is accurate, relevant, and actionable while being understood by a wide audience of stakeholders.

You will be comfortable regularly interacting with all levels of staff and provide them with insightful, forward looking, reporting and analysis. Lush is a true vertically integrated business including Manufacturing, Distribution, Retail, Digital, and Admin streams. While all streams are linked, this role is focused on Manufacturing & Distribution. You will play a key role in all budgeting and forecasting workflows for these teams.

Reporting to the Head of FP&A, the FP&A Manager - Manufacturing undertakes the following RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • People manager to the Manu Finance & Analysis team, responsible for coaching, development, and support for the team. 
  • Lead the financial business partnerships for the Manufacturing & Distribution teams, ensuring the team provides quality, relevant, and timely, financial support to the organization.
  • Be a storyteller, turning data into easily understood trends and impacts that can be actioned by stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Head of Manufacturing and Head of Distribution, alongside global Lush partners to provide insights, scenarios analysis, and analytical support to maximize the performance of the Manufacturing & Distribution businesses and drive improved profitability.
  • Responsible for month-end variance analysis and operational reviews for Manufacturing & Distribution, providing insights on financial performance and key underlying drivers, changes against the plan, and upcoming opportunities and risks.
  • Responsible for monthly financial forecasting and annual budgeting processes, including the development, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of forecasting models to ensure accurate and timely financial plans that align with the Global Manufacturing strategy. 
  • Proactively review and develop metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to find actionable opportunities for stakeholders and educate the business on how these metrics link to the P&L and drive financial improvements.
  • Responsible for the development and improvement of centralized tools and dashboards for business users to clearly understand their performance and opportunities.
  • Responsible for the improvement of finance knowledge across the business, ensuring the team is effectively communicating financial concepts that can be easily understood by all stakeholders.
  • Provide stakeholders decision support, impact assessment, and return on investment (ROI) analysis on the evaluation of CAPEX projects as well as strategic initiatives.
  • Support team members partnering with Buying and Procurement to ensure inventory levels are effectively planned to cover the needs of the business and appropriate use of working capital
  • Ensure the team is providing support, insights, modelling, and analysis to the monthly Supply Review processes and S&OP Leadership Reviews.
  • Provide peer support, guidance, and development opportunities to Lush team members.
  • Proactively ensure the team is engaging in support for any ad-hoc analysis projects, modelling, and presentation materials as required.

You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • 5+ years of progressive FP&A experience.
  • 3+ years proven experience in training, developing, and leading strong, stable high performing teams in a fast paced, growth environment.
  • Strong leadership, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, modelling, and problem-solving skills, with an in-depth knowledge of financial statements and drivers that impact them.
  • A proven, collaborative, and inclusive approach to business support.
  • Extremely high proficiency and experience within Microsoft Excel.
  • Pro-active approach and initiative, and ability to coach others to develop those skills in others.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work calmly under pressure to achieve deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and results oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
  • Excitement and commitment to learn, understand, and relate to Lush’s core brand values.
  • Travel as required to the UK or within North America.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business Admin, or related field.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX (or other ERP) and/or Adaptive forecasting software considered a significant asset.
  • Experience in dashboarding, analysis and visualizations through PowerBI.
  • Experience in vertically integrated operations.
  • Formal education or relevant experience in project management.

Job Type: Regular, Full Time role.

Location: Successful candidate must be located in or around Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid role, with 2-3 days/week in office required.

This salary range is based on an assessment of the local market and may vary depending on the successful candidate's location. This range is based on base salary and does not include additional bonus program and total rewards eligibility.

Base Salary Range
$120,000$130,000 CAD
