Lyft’s team in Montreal is seeking a Software Developer to join its LUS Kiosk Software team. Our mission is to deliver and support high quality software running on our bike and scooter kiosks. To do so, we develop new features, integrate new hardware, and work on improving reliability, security, and user experience.

While interviews and interactions with other offices will be conducted in English, the working environment in Montreal is bilingual.

Responsibilities:

  • Integrate new hardware into our existing software stack to support our latest products.
  • Contribute to the unification of our various existing software stacks.
  • Collaborate with the team in designing new features and improved code architecture.
  • Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, and maintainable code.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the various trade-offs involved in decision-making and be able to explain them clearly.
  • Unblock, provide support, communicate effectively, and obtain buy-in across teams to achieve results.

Experience:

  • BSc/MSc in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a software developer.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Experience with JavaScript, C, Java, and Go is a plus.
  • Experience in IoT software development is a plus.
  • Experience with embedded systems is a plus.
  • Experience with UI applications is a plus.
  • Must be fluent in spoken and written English / French.

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year. #Hybrid
