Data Curation Operations is a team which supports all ongoing curation projects for Mapping and other teams at Lyft. Our mission is to improve customer experience in Lyft products by providing high-quality, comprehensive, and efficient data curation operations.
In this role, you will work closely with engineering and product partners to lead a team of associates working on curation projects which involve data enrichment and maintenance for map data and driver map feedback. Responsibilities:
- Senior project management: Manage curation projects from start to finish, including initiatives with high ambiguity and complexity.
- Operational excellence: Lead the team responsible for Data Curation assisting Engineering and Product teams through improvements of existing features, experimentation and new feature launches. Drive continuous improvement in team processes.
- Strategic thinking and planning: Develop project strategy aligned with company goals, define team roadmaps and identify opportunities for increased efficiency. Define metrics for curation initiatives in collaboration with partners.
- Problem solving: Proactively identify and resolve issues, advocating for resources and developing creative solutions.
- Business acumen: Demonstrate a strong understanding of the business impact of projects, effectively scope opportunities and initiate new projects based on business priorities and product impact.
- Change management: Manage changes effectively and professionally, implementing process improvements and proactively collaborating with partners as needed.
- Teamwork & Collaboration: Build strong cross-functional relationships, leverage insights to inform partner decisions and optimize curation quality and efficiency. Work with senior leadership to ensure blockers, risks, and open questions are addressed on time.
- People Management: Set performance expectations, provide regular feedback, conduct performance reviews, and foster a positive and inclusive environment where team members feel valued and included.
- As necessary, participate in the interview process in consultation with partners (recruiting, people), following Lyft guidance and best practices.
Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent.
- 2+ years experience as a team lead or similar role (experience managing data curation or customer service teams preferred)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Within your own team you are able to take direction and feedback, as well as ask for support in order to successfully carry out tasks and see projects to completion.
- Always a team player: You're positive, optimistic, and willing to help out wherever needed. You support your team in brainstorming and always keep stakeholders up to date through your world-class verbal and written communication skills. You are able to coach and develop team members within your organization.
- Strong computer skills: You must feel comfortable learning new processes, systems & tools, including labeling tools (data labeling, image labeling) and Google Workspace products.

- Background in mapping, cartography and any related fields. Experience using Open Street Map.
- Experience with data entry or data labeling
- Experience working with vendors and partners
- Experience with Jira
This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule if an established Lyft Location is available to the Mexico City region — Hybrid Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year. #Hybrid
