Every day, millions of people rely on Lyft to get them to work, to meet up with friends, to get home after a night out. We serve and connect the Lyft community and we want Lyft to be the safest way to get around. That’s where you come in.
We’re looking for a Staff Content Designer to support the crucial work we do on the Community Safety team. You’ll help define new initiatives, create clear, concise, and customer-centric content that supports riders and drivers across the Lyft community. Of course, you won’t be alone. You'll work with designers, researchers, marketers, and product managers day in and day out to ensure that Lyft’s trust and safety features are clearly communicated to help foster a healthy environment for both our drivers and also our riders.
As a member of the Content Design team, you'll elevate your peers' solutions, help define best practices and systems to scale our team, and advocate for the discipline across Lyft and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Drive user centric solutions rooted in empathy and balanced with the needs of the business
- Set the standard for creating experiences that deliver measurable outcomes
- Own and drive the development of systems-level solutions that support key Trust & Safety initiatives
- A relentless advocate for our drivers and riders, in particular possessing skillfulness working with challenging, often disturbing, real world material infusing those highly sensitive instances into the product experience
- Model how to uphold and push the quality bar, coaching others across disciplines to rise to this level
- Drive collaboration and consensus across multiple teams and functions
- Evolve the Content Design discipline within Lyft, which often looks like coaching junior members of the team, building systems for stronger cross-functional alignment, and developing internal team processes around craft and quality
- An understanding of technical issues; skillfulness developing solutions alongside the engineering team
- Contribute to and shape Trust & Safety product strategy and vision
Your skills may include:
- 10+ years of Content Design related experience, and exceptional writing abilities
- Best-in-class understanding of UX principles, microcopy, and content design principles
- Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills; equally comfortable sharing your perspective in a cross-functional stand-up as a boardroom
- Skilled understanding of when and how to use data to inform product strategy
- Exceptional writing skills, especially around difficult and sensitive subject matters. Extra marks if you have training around trauma-informed UX and writing
- Strong ability to approach work with curiosity, humor, and humility
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and an ability to pivot gracefully
- Ability to navigate Figma
All that said, even if you don't have all of the skills above, consider applying. Talent takes many different shapes.
