Simon Bergson, founder and owner of Manhattan Beer Distributors, has done exactly this, growing our business over the last 40 years to exponential heights. Today, Manhattan Beer Distributors boasts 1.5 million square feet of warehouse space, the distribution rights to 300 brands, 400 trucks, and services 15 counties. Our aim is to provide excellent service to all of our customers, from convenience store owners to big chain operators, restaurants, bars, and hotels.

About the Role:

Claims Management

• Investigate and process auto liability and property damage claims, ensuring timely and thorough documentation.

• Work with insurance carriers and third-party administrators to submit claims and monitor their status.

• Maintain impeccable records in electronic claims systems and company databases.

Internal Communication and Support:

• Serve as a point of contact for employees, managers, and external stakeholders regarding claims.

• Provide frequent updates on claims status and ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations.

• Collaborate with Delivery, Fleet and Safety teams to gather incident details and support preventative measures.

Analysis and Reporting:

• Run reports on required metrics.

• Perform transactional data entry into electronic claims system (and other systems as needed) with a high degree of accuracy

• Participate in incident investigations and claims review meetings to support continuous improvement.

• Support compliance with all internal and external policies, including Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assist with training programs related to fleet safety and claim prevention.

• Serve as a backup for other Risk Management functions as assigned.

• Protect sensitive employee and company information, always ensuring confidentiality.

Position Requirements:

• Education: Degree preferred, but relevant experience will be considered.

• Experience: Minimum 3 years in claims management or risk coordination, with a focus on auto liability or property damage. Preferred experience in delivery, fleet, warehousing or distribution a plus.

• Strong working knowledge of insurance claims procedures and fleet safety practices.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.

Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Exceptional time management, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Experience with claims management and RIMS systems; Riskonnect and Fleet Pro experience is highly beneficial

Salary: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00

It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
