Manhattan Beer and Beverage Distributors now has 1.5 million feet of warehouse space, the distribution rights to 300 brands, 400 trucks and services 15 counties. Our aim is to provide great service to all of our customers from the convenience store owner to our big chain operators, restaurants, bars and hotels.

Are you zealous about keeping current with the best people practices? Are you a smart and talented HR professional, able to see the connection between people management and business outcomes? Do you have a passion and desire to learn about all things HR? If so, we are looking for an HR Generalist to join our team.

How Will You Contribute?

This role strategically partners with the business organization to handle a wide variety of HR matters. Using deep knowledge of company policy, best practices and compliance related matters, the HR Generalist answers inquiries, fosters interdepartmental communication and carries forward vital HR initiatives.

 

Your Main Focus:

  • Serve as first point of contact for benefits, 401K, employee relations and other HR matters.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Handling basic employee relations issues and ensures proper documentation and communication to all concerned individuals. Escalates more complex issues to appropriate HR management.
  • Manage the record keeping process in our HRIS system, ensuring that departmental standards and legal requirements are met.
  • Execute key HR actions in our HRIS system surrounding new and current employees.
  • Support and participate in HR and company related events such as job fairs and engagement meetings.
  • Facilitate intradepartmental and interdepartmental communication regarding all HR matters.
  • Support training efforts for our frontline teams.
  • Prepares reports on key HR metrics as required.
  • General administrative support and other duties as required.

Position Requirements

  • Degree preferred.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours and travel throughout our facilities.
  • 2-3 years of experience in HR, with some exposure to employee relations.
  • Experience dealing with a unionized workforce is an advantage.
  • Experience dealing with HRIS systems is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
  • Intermediate to advanced skill in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Hourly Salary: $32.00-$35.00
It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
