We’re seeking an experienced and innovative Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Security team to build brand-new security offerings for our customers. In this role, you will operate as a team of one, transforming proof of concepts into fully functional products. This is an exciting opportunity to take full ownership the product development lifecycle, working closely with stakeholders to define, design, and deliver security solutions that meet our customers' unique needs. 

 As an early driver of this product, you will lay the technical foundation, ensure scalability and security, and set the stage for future enhancements. Additionally, you will lead a small team of contractors on this initiative, guiding them to deliver key milestones and ensuring alignment with broader product goals. This role offers high visibility, autonomy, and the chance to have a meaningful impact on Mark43's product suite and our customers’ security posture. 

 

What You’ll Do 

If you were a part of our team, here are some things you would have done last week:  

  • Partnered with various stakeholders to understand requirements, define the scope, and create a technical roadmap for the new security offering. 
  • Designed and built core features of the product using technologies like Java, React, SQL, and cloud platforms e.g., AWS  
  • Developed robust APIs and backend infrastructure to enable seamless data processing and integration. 
  • Built intuitive, user-friendly front-end components to provide customers with actionable insights and tools. 
  • Worked autonomously to solve challenging technical problems, balancing speed and quality. 
  • Documenty our code, architecture decisions, and technical design to ensure clarity for future team members. 
  • Tested, refined, and validated your work to ensure the MVP meets high standards for reliability, security, and performance. 
  • Presented progress updates and technical milestones to cross-functional stakeholders. 

 

What You’ll Need 

We are seeking engineers with at least 4 years of professional experience using Java and React in production. You should be comfortable utilizing agile development and thoroughly testing your own code. Our codebase is large and complex, so we expect you to write clear, concise code and intuitive documentation to help other engineers understand your contributions. The ideal candidate will have previous experience developing a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) or other log monitoring  products.  

  • Deep understanding of databases, automated testing, Agile methodologies 
  • Proficiency building and managing RESTful APIs 
  • Deep experience designing and building out products for complex cloud-based software applications, preferably hosted in AWS or Azure 
  • Knowledge of or prior experience with microservices architecture 
  • Extensive knowledge of JavaScript and its many frameworks, HTML, CSS, and an interest in testing out new FE technologies 
  • Knowledge of web architecture concepts including HTTP and REST

We feel passionately about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one vehicle to achieve that. Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a target base annual salary range of $155,000-$185,000, plus bonus opportunity, company stock options, and a full benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and a 401k plan. Please note that the higher end of this range will be reserved for candidates with appropriate experience who reside in high cost of labor markets.
