We have a fantastic opportunity for a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), to join our company. The HRBP role will provide both local and global HR support, while leading employee engagement throughout the company. 

The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written English language skills as the work will require high-level meetings with leaders across the globe. Preference will be given for candidates with employee relations and labor law knowledge and experience in Jamaica.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Actively lead and project manage various strands of specific HR and L&D Strategic projects and implement HR initiatives
  • Proactively work with line managers at all levels within the projects to embed HR plans, systems, processes, and policies providing consistent operational support
  • Cultivate good working relations and promote a positive and collaborative culture
  • Support, lead and coach managers on implementing change programs and processes and embedding change in their teams
  • Work in partnership with the management team to promote a culture of development
  • Lead the business for employee engagement throughout the company
  • Act as point of contact for employees and managers, providing guidance, advice and support on HR-related matters, including employee relations issues for Jamaica
  • Lead, execute performance management for ModSquad Jamaica and partner with global HRBPs to work with managers and employees through performance management and development in role
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are up to date and are applied consistently throughout the business, relevant for Jamaica as well as across MSQ
  • Identify and Develop (strategy to execution) key HR initiatives to drive the business forward in Jamaica
  • Ensure compliance with Jamaican HR & H&S legislation; Health & Safety admin & support
  • Manage relationships and contract renewals with Jamaican Benefits and Government Benefits supporting ModSquad Jamaican Corp operations
  • Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant HR qualification (Certificate, Diploma or Degree)
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a HRBP or similar role, with a particular focus on managing performance, handling investigations and HR matters
  • Professional local HR membership desirable 
  • Expert in Jamaican Labor Law, leading, handling, managing the entire investigations process from start to finish, including interaction with legal counsel (internal/external), drafting communications related to employment issues, leading disciplinary and administrative hearings in a productive manner
  • Experience working in a remote, global setting and working in a matrix organization
  • Strong knowledge of employment law for Jamaica, including performance management and disciplinary processes, leading investigations through decision (coaching, termination, etc)
  • Experience setting up and working with internal/external counsel, government entities, annual reporting requirements.
  • Strong HRIS, Technical / IT, reporting/analytics and process improvement skills
  • Must have experience working in a multicultural USA headquartered organization, specifically working in a regional role within an international company. (EMEA, LATAM and APAC regions a plus)
  • Able to work with highly confidential and sensitive issues.  Must be able to apply effective decision-making principles informing solid recommendations
  • Team leader as well as a team player, takes initiative and independent actions and calculated risks
  • Proven experience of leading and partnering on critical HR projects from scoping to planning, to content and process creation, training and delivery
  • Demonstrate achievement in planning, directing and implementing high level projects
