We are deeply integrated into the payment eco-system. In the UK, we are direct participants of Faster Payments and Bacs. Modulr hold settlement accounts at the Bank of England. Our payment network connectivity also includes CHAPS, SEPA, SWIFT and account issuance in 11 currencies. We are principal issuing members of Visa and Mastercard schemes across UK and Europe and a leading player in Open Banking.
Our regulatory permissions and governance structure are the foundations of our business. We are regulated and supervised as an Authorised Electronic Money Institution (AEMI) in the UK by the Financial Conduct Authority and in the Netherlands by De Nederlandsche Bank.
Our founding team has a wealth of experience in the payments industry and growing successful businesses. Modulr is backed by the venture arms of payments giants PayPal and FIS, as well as growth investors Blenheim Chalcot, General Atlantic, Frog Capital and Highland Europe.
Modulr now has over 400 employees spread globally across offices in London, Edinburgh, Amsterdam, and Mumbai.

The role
Summary
The Account Executive is a vital role within Modulr and this role will make a significant contribution towards our aspiration to be a leading provider of payment services to the pension industry.
Specific duties
Depending on the project, you will need to be comfortable doing the following:
The role in our pension vertical is a key hire in the business and will help Modulr drive vital penetration in the pension market. From an extensive background in this market, we are looking for someone who can instantly hit the ground running by understanding the Modulr product proposition and take it to market at pace.
- Work in a highly dynamic environment, focusing on execution and ensuring plans come to fruition.
- Consistently build strong relationships with stakeholders with high degree of complexity.
- Lead and manage teams driving outcomes and evidencing accountability.
- Build out a target prospect list of scaled pension schemes across the Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution ecosystem.
- Establish partnerships with key stakeholders and channel partners (e.g. consultants and pension administrators) across the pension industry that will facilitate introductions to prospect pension providers.
- Grow a network of pension industry technology partners that can develop native integrations to Modulr that delivers ready access to payment services for pension providers.
The team:
Reporting to the Account Director the successful applicant will quickly become a key member of the sales organisation driving Modulr’s growth into the pension industry. The role is supported by expert colleagues from Solution Consulting, Product and Compliance to collaborate and ensure the best outcomes from the sales process. Furthermore the role will be able to influence Modulr’s pension industry “Go To Market” strategy.
About you
The successful Account Executive will have a track-record in delivering sales results in the pension industry. More specifically the ideal candidate will have:
- Evidence that you are a subject-matter expert in the pension industry.
- A natural aptitude for technology solution sales underpinned by strong discovery and sales process skills.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and strong presentation skills.
- First class planning, high attention to detail and effective organisational skills.
- Ability to operate in a changing and dynamic environment
- Excellent stakeholder management.
