YOUR TEAM
Behind the scenes of our projects, the administrative services work to highlight every initiative. They are involved at different stages of development, providing support and assistance to the Moment Factory teams. You will join a passionate team that thrives on the diversity of projects, varied production cycles, and a wide range of clients.
YOUR MISSION
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating all accounting cycle operations for Moment Factory and its subsidiaries. Additionally, you will ensure proper accounting controls, monitor financial performance, and maintain the accuracy of the company’s accounting and financial information.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial and Management AccountingSupervise a team of six accountants;Oversee and review month-end close processes, prepare monthly financial statements for the entity and its subsidiaries, perform consolidation, and explain budget variances;Prepare consolidated reporting and highlight key insights (both consolidated and by business line);Present results to the executive team;Produce various internal and external financial reports;Prepare financial information for the Board of Directors on a quarterly basis;Contribute to the analysis of complex accounting transactions;Supervise the Chief Accountant responsible for all operational transactions at Moment Factory (accounts payable, client invoicing, accounts receivable, credit cards, and other banking activities);Accurately record partnership assets in accordance with contracts and assess the capitalization of intangible assets;Monitor cash flow and approve vendor payments through the banking platform;Ensure compliance with sales tax regulations when recording customer and vendor invoices;Coordinate the preparation of various consumption tax reports in the countries where we operate; Lead and coordinate external audit activities for the entity and its subsidiaries;Assist the CFO in preparing and monitoring the consolidated annual budget;Prepare and track budgets for the finance department and international offices.
Risk ManagementDevelop, implement, and monitor the policies, procedures, and controls required for the financial systems used within the company;Ensure compliance with controls, approval matrices, and internal policies, and implement corrective measures as necessary;Manage the internal control system effectively to maintain the integrity of financial information;Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data in accordance with recognized accounting standards;Monitor accounting standards and special projects (e.g., new partnerships and new jurisdictions).
Other Related DutiesParticipate in continuous improvement strategies, optimizing and automating transactional processes;Prepare training sessions on various accounting topics and deliver them to the teams;Structure, organize, train, and motivate the accounting department.YOUR JOURNEY INCLUDES
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field;Must be a member an active member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec (CPA);Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting and/or finance, with at least 5 years in a controller role;Experience in personnel management and talent development;Strong understanding of project accounting standards, including revenue recognition (work in progress and deferred revenue);Knowledge of consumption taxes, tax credits, and corporate taxation;Proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written (you will communicate regularly with English-speaking clients in this role);Experience managing international subsidiaries (an asset);Familiarity with an ERP system (NetSuite, is a plus);Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.YOUR QUALITIES
