We are looking for passionate technologists to join our Pre-Sales organization to ensure that our growth is grounded and guided by strong technical alignment with our platform and the needs of our customers.

MongoDB Pre-Sales Solution Architects are responsible for guiding our customers and users to design and build reliable, scalable systems using our data platform. Our team is made up of seasoned technical sales professionals, software architects, entrepreneurs, and developers who take direct responsibility for customer success, including the design of their software, deployment, and operations. You'll work closely with our sales executives, helping customers solve business problems by leveraging our solutions, playing a key role in winning deals and driving the business forward. You'll be a trusted advisor to a wide range of users from startups to the world's largest enterprise IT organizations.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Toronto, ON for our hybrid working model.

As an ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Minimum 12+ years’ of related experience
  • Experience building prototype applications for prospective clients with at least two of the following: MariaDB, AWS Aurora, PostgreSQL, CosmosDB, DocumentDB, or MySQL
  • Ability to design or review deployment architectures of highly complex cloud-based platforms, including at least one of the following: business continuity (Highly Available), Multi-Region, Highly Scalable, or Secure environments providing for PII/HIPPA/GDPR requirements
  • Detailed knowledge of at least one of the following competitive technologies; DocumentDB, CosmosDB, PostgresDB, or MySQL
  • Extensive experience handling complex objections live, turning them into additional discovery/qualification topics (with suitable follow-up as required)
  • Prior experience creating detailedTechnical Champion Building Plans
  • Demonstrated success creating strategies that map specific industry trends to accounts based within your territory or region 
  • Professional experience with at least two  of the following programming languages: Java, C#, Python, Node.js, or similar
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Advanced Mathematics, or a related field and five years’ of progressive, post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related IT software role Alternatively, a master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Advanced Mathematics or related field and two years’ experience in the job offered or related IT software role

What you do at MongoDB:

  • Align to sales support in the regional territory including technical discovery and technical deep dives
  • Prepare and undertake demos, presentations, POVs/PoCs, sizing, and document technical decision criteria 
  • Plan and execute technical feasibility workshops
  • Consult with C-level customers on their application development strategy. 
  • Professionally articulate business value of MongoDB solutions
  • Provide technical guidance and feedback for internal Slack communities, and product management teams to identify strategic product direction on the core product and associated focus areas
  • Enable local SA teams, providing backup to ensure the team can articulate MongoDB’s value proposition and business model by educating and mentoring employees at different levels
  • Assist in technical enablement of sales teams
  • Support recruiting activities by leading technical screening of potential SA candidates 
  • Provide significant contribution to building internal knowledge documents, decks, demos and whitepapers
  • Present, and represent MongoDB at formal technology events, industry trade shows and account-based marketing events

  • Market-relevant, complementary technologies e.g. Apache Kafka, Kubernetes
  • Modern and popular architecture design patterns, methodologies and concerns e.g. microservices, DevOps, cloud, security
  • Exposure to a wide variety of market verticals and broad spectrum of interesting use cases
