MongoDB is seeking a highly motivated Head of Procurement to lead a globally distributed team of Procurement professionals.  This role is responsible for driving complex strategic sourcing strategies across all spend categories in support of the company’s business strategies.  As a key member of the Source-to-Pay leadership team, you will be called upon to fly at different altitudes to help executives and individual contributors make better decisions.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who has the knowledge, skill, and discipline to transform the function into our next stage of growth.  You should have deep expertise in driving technology deals such as public cloud infrastructure agreements, SaaS, IT services, while still having working knowledge of Marketing, professional services, and other indirect categories.

This will be a hybrid in-office role. We are looking for candidates who plan to be available in our New York City office for approximately 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities: What You’ll Be Doing 

  • Drive category strategy to all applicable spend categories for MongoDB
  • Develop and maintain global procurement policies and procedures
  • Develop, coach, and lead a high-performing global procurement team, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, knowledge sharing, and innovation
  • Be the face of Procurement by developing strong relationships with key leaders and stakeholders and reinforcing the strategic value that the team provides
  • Deliver annual cost savings target and multi-year pipeline based on assigned projects
  • Implement and lead process improvement projects along with any change management required

Qualifications: What We’ll Need to See 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or similar quantitative related field
  • Procurement professional certification, such as CPSM, CIPS, CSP
  • 12+ overall years of professional business experience
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Procurement and/or Strategic Sourcing
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience
  • Deep knowledge of strategic sourcing and negotiation
  • Hands-on experience in negotiating complex deals
  • Leader with vision and credentials working at global large scale companies
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to drive change and influence all levels of the organization
  • Experience analyzing large data sets while developing and driving recommendations from collected insights

How To Stand Out From Other Candidates 

  • MBA or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of Source to Pay Orchestration tools
  • Experience with large ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or Workday
  • Experience using Coupa (including Coupa Analytics and SIM)
  • Experience working in multiple industries especially in the high tech sector
  • Experience sourcing cloud infrastructure, SaaS, professional services, marketing
  • Excellent presentation skills (both oral and written)
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic and ambiguous environment (e.g. able to quickly adapt to changing priorities)

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. Please note, the base salary range listed below and the benefits in this paragraph are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.

$98,000$193,000 USD
