The role of Director, Talent Management has a critical role to play in this journey. The People Team is currently focused on building an organization that can continue to scale at the pace of MongoDB, as well as integrating our Leadership Commitment framework into our talent ecosystem. The Leadership Commitment defines expectations for every person at MongoDB, including our people leaders, and these expectations collectively define our culture. The Director of Talent Management will work to build a global talent management system that not only helps our organization continue to scale but also embeds the Leadership Commitment into how we assess, develop, and plan for the future, focusing first on senior leaders.
This role will be a member of the leadership team in the Culture, Talent and Development Center of Excellence, which is a part of the People Team. The Culture, Talent and Development team is responsible for sustaining and growing our culture and employees through leadership development and learning, talent processes and decisions, organization development, engagement, and inclusion.
Director, Talent Management Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- End to end ownership of our global talent management strategy and processes to support the delivery of business outcomes, including organizational and talent planning and reviews, career progression frameworks, talent assessment (potential and 360), succession planning, and managing others to do so as well
- Engaging in strong diagnosis of business needs, to better tailor uniform processes that deliver measurable business impact across the company
- Aligning the talent management function to our Leadership Commitment, leadership development programs, and diversity & inclusion strategy
- Consulting with, influencing and supporting our HR Business Partners and Senior Leaders to develop and make informed talent strategies and ensure adoption of our talent processes.
- Coordinating and inspecting cross-functionally to ensure that our core processes are used consistently across our business units and are also flexible enough to solve for business-specific problems and are able to mature with our business at scale
- Ensuring all talent management deliverables have both strong project management (resourcing, dependencies, risk management, timelines, etc) and change management (understanding of business priorities and context, stakeholder alignment and involvement)
- Managing and evolving our talent management technology in partnership with our Tech and HR Operations teams
Required Qualifications:
- 15+ years of progressive global experience leading large scale, cross functional talent management and development projects and strategies, ideally as a program manager and a people manager in high growth tech environments
- Partnering on talent management strategies for and with senior leaders
- Process design experience, including right sizing to meet business needs
- Demonstrated ability to drive impact on business objectives
- Ability to build an overarching framework and system as well as individual processes
- Track record of taking a pragmatic approach to solving problems, rather than an academic one
- Experience customizing experiences and content to meet the needs of individual business units
- Strong track record in delivering both strategic and tactical/pragmatic solutions in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Strong consulting skills (e.g., communication, influencing, facilitation and stakeholder management skills)
- Excellence in written communication, and project documentation
- Excellence in communicating and presenting, especially with executive audiences
- Strategic mindset with a willingness to be hands on as required
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working in an HR organization or partnering closely with an HR organization for 5+ years
- Experience as an HR Business Partner
- Experience managing a team
- Strategic ownership of talent management technology/systems; familiarity with Success Factors & Qualtrics preferred.

Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package.
