Summary 

MongoDB is hiring a Senior Manager within our Workplace function. The role will report into the Director of Workplace for the Americas, which is within the wider Americas Employee Experience department. This role will be responsible for facilities management as well as creating a strategy and framework for the various events held throughout the calendar year in support of our hybrid work model. This role will partner closely with regional Workplace Experience leadership in the Americas, EMEA and APAC to ensure global alignment on frameworks, programs and practices where necessary. This role will also partner closely with Procurement, Real Estate, Physical Security and Finance. This role requires a proactive and collaborative individual with excellent communication skills, capable of driving change, embedding new initiatives and ensuring our workplace is fostering an engaging employee experience. This is an exciting new role, which plays a pivotal role in shaping our workplace strategy and creating a thriving atmosphere for our employees. This is a full-time position and will help support the 850+ on site employees across a variety of teams. 

The Employee Experience Team at MongoDB is the face of HR to the approximately 5,000 employees globally. The team is responsible for providing full employee life cycle service delivery from onboarding to separation management in partnership with the rest of the People Team including the following CoEs: Recruiting, Total Rewards, Culture & Engagement, Employee Engagement & Inclusion, HR Business Partnering and HR Operations. The team is also responsible for our Workplace sustainability and community/events efforts, Employee Relations, policy and process enhancements including regional compliance as well as developing programs to enhance manager capability across the company. 

This role can be based out of our New York City office.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee and manage daily facilities operations in our New York Headquarters Office. This includes operational oversight of various aspects, including space planning, janitorial services, HVAC maintenance, food services, and resolving general maintenance issues promptly and effectively
  • Oversee and support our sustainability team in line with the company initiatives 
  • Lead the implementation of the annual New York City corporate office events roadmap that incorporates strategic planning with our executive support team
  • Support the execution of community events such as town halls, QBRs, offsites, corporate & social responsibility and provide guidance to local teams on how to run those events successfully creating global end to end solutions 
  • Manage any escalations with local vendors; own relationships with key operational vendors in the local market
  • Implement in-house events to enhance the employee experience in partnership with our Community and Events team
  • Delegate / Roll out initiatives with the Global Workplace Team 
  • Bridge the gap between HR/Employee Experience & Workplace for relatable employee experiences via the delivery of key events
  • Support the NYC Site Leadership Committee and own the events calendar related to community projects and initiatives
  • Create and implement systems and processes to streamline events. Ensure the effective documentation and marketing of community events and sustainability
  • Utilize data, analytical capabilities, and workplace technology to evaluate operational efficiency and effectiveness; including but not limited to space planning and seating. Partner to create strategic plans informed by analytics to drive targeted business outcomes and enhance operational performance
  • Review and approve invoices inline with budget, manage expectations, office service requests and office operating costs in line with budget 
  • Champion strategies to ensure that the organization’s culture, systems, and processes support an environment that is inclusive for all and where employees feel able to contribute their fullest. Leverage diversity and inclusion as a tool to design and implement employee events and services

Requirements 

  • 7-10 years office management, facilities, vendor management and community/events creation and support experience required 
  • Experience in leading and guiding teams of individuals
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Flexible approach with superb interpersonal skills, both in verbal and written communications with an ability to effectively present information and communicate changes
  • Space management and programming experience
  • Highly organized with an attention to details and ability to multitask
  • A high degree of independent judgment and discretion in order to identify, diagnose, and solve problems while taking a team approach to daily office operations
  • Proficient with Google Suite, MS office applications, Slack and Mac

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. Please note, the base salary range listed below and the benefits in this paragraph are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:
$76,000$149,000 USD
