The Role: Financial Controller 

We’re looking for a hands-on finance professional to help us scale the organization. You are a creative problem solver, enjoy building and implementing processes and working in a fast-paced environment. 

What You’ll Be Doing 

You will play an integral role in helping a fast paced fintech startup scale internationally, some responsibilities will include: 

• Manage the monthly and annual close 
• Review monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations 
• Prepare monthly variance analyses and identify areas for efficiencies 
• Manage payroll process
• Assist in the preparation of reporting to internal stakeholders
• Assist in the preparation of the year end audit file 
• Assist in developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience (CPA students welcomed) 
• 3 + years experience working in accounting (ideally in an SME) 
• Interest in, and comfortable with working within a start-up and highly entrepreneurial environment
• Independent, detail oriented
