The Cross Border Air Freight team aims to build competitive logistics products and customised solutions to support various sales channels in business acquisition. The Regional Manager, Cross Border (Air) will supervise the overall Ninja Freight air freight operations activities, including:

- Overseeing air freight procurement and pricing for Intra ASEAN products and support Senior Manager in quotations and implementations for freight solutions
- Developing and managing budgets for air freight operations, monitoring expenses, and implementing cost-saving initiatives while maintaining service quality
- Developing and implementing strategic plans to optimise air freight operations within the region, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives and targets
- Regulatory Compliance and Understanding: Develop an intricate understanding of the respective import and export regulations of S.E.A. countries, thereby aiding in seamless cross-border operations
- Driving and developing operational excellence by setting /improving processes and/or procedures within the operations environment to enhance service level
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key airlines to manage performance, negotiate freight rates

Responsibilities

  • Strategic sourcing and procurement from carriers and freight partners for competitive air freight rates and customs clearance solutions
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to air freight operations and capacity constraints
  • Promote continuous improvement within the team across operations, initiating innovation and implementing best practices
  • Facilitate onboarding of new vendors and documentation of new implementations including vendors' contracts, rates management, SOP and billing details
  • Create and maintain all Standard Operating Procedures with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support Commercials, Finance and OPEX team for new product launches/onboarding of new shippers for existing / new lanes
  • Work with Senior Manager for new vendor acquisition and expanding the breadth of capabilities
  • Source and negotiate price ­competitive solutions
  • Oversee vendors onboarding and implementation process
  • Ensure that operational requirements and rates are aligned prior to vendor onboarding and pilot process
  • Responsible for monitoring vendor performances against targets and agreement
  • Generate reports for monthly P&L reporting
  • P&L analysis of active lanes
  • Work with internal stakeholders to visualize cost optimisation strategies
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience in a freight forwarding operations environment or knowledge of air freight, Export and Import Clearance
  • Prior experience in vendor management in the freight forwarding space
  • Deep technical understanding of air freight and customs clearance processes in South East Asia
  • Good knowledge of South East Asia flight routes, networks, and visibility of airline costing
  • Proven leadership skills with strong stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to converse in Mandarin is highly preferential for this position
