Roles and Responsibilities

(1) User-centered research & design
  • Design and communicate design deliverables such as wireframes, prototypes, high fidelity screens and design specifications clearly to cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct research studies and translate research data into actionable design solutions.
  • Integrate qualitative & quantitative research insights into design decisions that address user needs and business objectives.
  • Develop a foundational understanding of business acumen to balance design output with organisational goals and user needs.

  • (2) Design planning & project management
  • Independently plan and complete design tasks with confidence, clearly communicate design decisions and rationales to team and stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date design documentation to ensure seamless collaboration and information accessibility across teams.
  • Incorporate design systems into designs to ensure consistency in user experience.
  • Develop and refine your design process with the guidance of more experienced designers when needed.

  • (3) Collaboration & feedback 
  • Collaborate closely with product managers to break down problems and translate product requirements into UX & UI requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to assess the feasibility of designs and make sure designs are implemented to-spec.
  • Actively participate and initiate feedback loops through design review sessions to improve design quality.

  • (4) Self-development
  • Take ownership of your design practice and identify areas for growth and progression.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and explore opportunities to integrate them into your work.
  • Requirements

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in product design or a related field.
  • Experience designing effective and aesthetically pleasing user experiences for cross-platform interfaces such as on web, iPhone/iPad and Android apps. Website design is not considered relevant experience. 
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects, including evidence of independent design work and clear end-to-end design processes.
  • Good communication and presentation skills to articulate design decisions and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Zeplin or Figma
  • Strong proficiency in design skills such as wire-framing, prototyping, interaction and visual design.
  • Proficiency with user research methodologies, usability testing, and translating insights into actionable design solutions.
  • Experience with using design systems in your day-to-day designs.
