About the role

 

Ensure the sustainable Nubank's growth supporting the regulatory demands of KYC and judicial enquiries, challenging the status quo through:

  • The best experience to our fanatics and loved clients in the KYC process, keeping the highest level of quality for customer data and due diligence applicable accordingly to the regulators and internal policies;
  • Replying any Judicial enquiry related to breach of bank secrecy and unavailability of assets/ balances whenever our client is the defendant, contributing to a more ethical and fair society, truly understanding that it is also a key driving force for the solid growth and development of Nubank and Brazil & Mexico;

In order to achieve that, our Operational Pack - Judicial Orders - is responsible for supporting and executing all first line of defense operational routines related to Judicial Orders whenever our client is the defendant. Along with the controlling aspect, we are in charge of all judicial orders/ enquiries, mainly related to bank secrecy breach and amount's unavailability/ freezing.

 

Typical responsibilities assigned to you might include:

 

  • Support the team responsible for attention and monitoring of judicial requirements and illegal operations, received through the portal of the Inter-Institutional Information Transfer System - Attention to Authorities, of the National Banking and Securities Commission (SITI AA portal of the CNBV).
  • Control and timely download of the digital requirements published for the financial institution, and be in charge of end-to-end flow, considering analysis of the requirements and the final response to the Regulator.
  • Be part of the very dynamic Pack - Judicial Orders, focused on Mexico´s enquiries, reporting directly to our Regulatory Solutions Squad in Mexico;
  • Support Judicial orders operational workflow; 
  • Follow the management queues and dashboards in order to ensure the enquiries have been duly promptly addressed and no regulatory gaps are found;
  • Continuous supporting projects to comply with key policies related to Judicial orders scope and its operational routines (SITI AA)
  • Support and comply with monitoring metrics and KPIs, facilitating communication within Nubank teams.
  • Support and execute the operational routines related to Blocked Person List (Lista de Personas Bloqueadas) in Mexico.
  • Support and execute the operational routines related to UNE
  • Support operational routines on Know Your Employee (KYE) / Know Your Supplier (KYS) / Know Your Beneficiary (KYB)



Qualifications:

You will succeed if…

You have a Bachelor's Degree, preferable in Law, or related.

You are detail-oriented, diligent, organized and enjoy operational activities 

You are a proactive, autonomous person and have an interest in creating processes and improving them, but at the same time, understand that there are bureaucracies in the regulatory activities that need to be followed 

You are able to meet deadlines and to be flexible to adapt to changing conditions

You can communicate clearly, succinctly and effectively 

You feel good to be constantly challenged to learn and do more 

You are good with oral and written communication in Spanish and/or English 

You believe in a more just and ethical society and Nubank's values ​​and culture.

You understand that we can contribute within Nubank to the construction of this society, guaranteeing the application of all the rules and regulatory aspects inherent to the Client's Registration.

 

It will be a differential if you..

Have previous experience Compliance & AML or Legal 

Have knowledge in Excel, Sheets, Looker, SQL and Python 

Have Banking & SOFIPO regulation knowledge;

Have knowledge in CNBV regulation, freezing, unfreezing and transfer money;

Have previous experience in conducting Judicial orders operational routines, e.g. subpoenas (Oficios Judiciales);

Have previous experience in management of SITI AA is a plus;

Can easily turn numbers into complex strategies and effective actions

*Interviewing and onboarding are currently done virtually due to COVID-19. Everyone new to the team and our current staff will remain working from home until it is safe to return to our offices. When it’s time, we will require a fixed cadence of visiting the office in which employees go to their Business Unit's (BU) base location. Employees will have an employment contract based on the cities that Nu’s offices are located, considering their country of hire. More details can be shared during your hiring process.
