The Role

We're looking for a Policy and Communications Specialist to join a cross-functional group who are responsible for externally communicating Palantir's work and values. This is a unique opportunity to be one of the core members of the Corporate Media team at Palantir. Our team works hard to develop narratives with a sharp perspective and is constantly developing new ways to introduce Palantir and re-introduce its customers in creative and effective ways.

To be successful in this role, you will need to understand the media landscape, be quick to catch newsworthy trends, and have knowledge well beyond the traditional media venues including social media, marketing communications and executive visibility. You are someone who can navigate a fast-paced environment and are adept at handling multiple projects using effective time management and prioritization, while executing processes to streamline workflows and reduce friction. You will be responsible for working internally with our US government business leads to cultivate and manage visibility opportunities that highlight Palantir’s role within dozens of US agencies and departments. This role requires a combination of operational thinking, project management, and thoughtful communication.

Core Responsibilities

  • Work with internal teams to cultivate and manage potential visibility opportunities.
  • Write press releases, maintaining and updating Palantir artifacts.
  • Project coordinate content production and promotion to social channels, supporting our Demand Generation teams.
  • Support Analyst Relations Team, including meeting preparation and strategy and acting as liaison for the Media team.
  • Build strategic campaigns to cultivate brand awareness and achieve business goals.
  • Work directly with Head of Global Media, Design, Leadership, Content Strategists, Marketing, and Media teams.
  • What We Value

  • Deep understanding of the US government landscape, including its many departments and agencies, and comprehensive knowledge of at least three critical focus areas for Palantir’s US government work: defense, border protection, fraud, criminal prosecutions, and healthcare.Deep understanding of the US government including its many departments and agencies
  • Commanding knowledge of the media landscape (publications, reporters, areas of focus, placement opportunities, etc.) for each critical area of focus.
  • Demonstrated experience seeking out thought leadership opportunities, including speaking engagements, external facing events, and notable conferences.
  • Ability to recommend and secure non-earned media opportunities via sponsorships, social media, bylined articles and other nontraditional venues.
  • Exceptional writing skills.
  • Proven track record of effectively interacting with senior management and ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments.
  • Ability to self-motivate, think strategically, and bring order and efficiency to internal initiatives, projects, and operational objectives.
  • Ability to travel 25-50% of the time to other Palantir offices, external conferences, and client meetings.
  • What We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of relevant industry experience
  • 4+ years communications or public relations experience
  • Salary

    The estimated salary range for this position is estimated to be $80,000 - $140,000/year. Total compensation for this position may also include Restricted Stock units, sign-on bonus and other potential future incentives. Further note that total compensation for this position will be determined by each individual’s relevant qualifications, work experience, skills, and other factors. This estimate excludes the value of any potential sign-on bonus; the value of any benefits offered; and the potential future value of any long-term incentives.
