ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Hardware Validation Engineer. This role will involve all aspects of the fitness product End to End Hardware/Firmware integration user test and key component performance. In addition, this role will also assist in new product development as well as quality testing and reliability testing.
The Hardware Validation Engineer excels in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is a hands-on problem solver with a desire to learn what they don’t already know. All applicants should be able to easily stay in sync with instructions, work closely with the team, and think quickly.
YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON
- Drive and execute the End to End integration user test and validation plans in the internal lab.
- Execute the mechanical and electrical tests of HW reliability from validation plans in the internal or 3rd party labs.
- Establish End to End integration user test validation plan for the new product and component, brainstorm the user test case based on the requirements and product features.
- Estimate the reliability goals, field failure rate, and failure distributions with the statistics tool for the test plan and issue.
- Generate and summarize user testing status and results, and reports in order to present to the multi-functional teams (engineering and Ops teams)
- Work with internal cross-function teams to drive user test plan and key performance verification.
- Identify and track each Hardware/Firmware related issue and work with the team to investigate the root cause and verify the corrective actions.
- Complete lab tasks specified by daily checklists
- Assemble custom and off-the-shelf test equipment
- Design test fixtures/tools
- Perform testing as directed by senior team members
- Own lab cleanliness
- Operate and observe on-going testing and report daily to corresponding test engineer
- Perform basic measurements using scales, calipers, multimeters, thermal probes, etc
- Keep test equipment and tools organized
- Keep records of testing history
- Share data files with the engineering team
- Maintain records of test unit inventory
- Write working instructions, test procedure, test report or any technical document
WHAT YOU BRING TO PELOTON
- 2+ years working in a lab space preferred
- 1+ years of experience of HW/FW integration testing
- Must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment and be an excellent teammate, ability to interact with multi-functional teams
- Fluent oral and written skills and the ability to document and present information in comprehensive and clear ways
- Familiar and experience with the tools and frameworks, like JIRA, Confluence, and PLM system
- Basic Hand Tools, shop experience, experience with 80-20 Aluminum extrusion, motors and motorized systems, Universal Loading (Instron) machines
- Experience with Python, LabVIEW and 2D/3D drawing skill would be a plus
