As the home of inspiration for over 500 million people, creativity is key to achieving success on Pinterest, and our Brand & Creative Solutions team is an essential partner to advertisers. As a Director, Creative Strategy, International, you’ll drive accountability for a team of creative strategists across our Europe, Latin America and APAC regions, where Pinterest is seeing exciting growth. You’ll partner closely with sales leaders and cross-functional teams to provide scalable strategies and services for marketers and agencies using Pinterest to reach their business goals. This role is fundamental to Pinterest’s growth, where advertising creativity sits at the intersection of an inspiring user experience and driving performance for our brand partners.
What you’ll do:
- Manage and lead a multi-market team of creative strategists and people managers across Europe, Latin America and APAC
- Set a clear strategy and vision for the team, leveraging their unique talents to help our customers and Pinterest reach their goals
- Develop an innovative culture through program development, goal setting and applying courage to creative problem solving ambiguous challenges
- Lead the development and implementation of customer engagement strategies and plans across priority markets to identify relevant stakeholders, build relationships and represent their voice in the evolution of our ad product and solutions
- Lead cross-functional strategic projects, including defining project/program vision, communicating desired outcomes, managing resources across projects/programs and building team capability through training, coaching, and mentoring
- Create systems that enable cross-market sharing and application of best practices that drives impact for our business and creates efficiency for the team
- Work closely with cross functional teams, like direct sales, insights, measurement and performance solutions to break down siloes and apply the group’s joint expertise to our most pressing priorities
- Develops and maintains personal relationships with key priority customers to facilitate creative success and partnership growth
- Regularly assess our current suite of solutions and services to optimize alignment with emerging customer preferences and specific market needs
- Mobilize the team by removing obstacles and enabling teams to focus on achieving high-quality results for the most important initiatives
- Partners with analytic teams to build tracking mechanisms that create an environment of accountability for the working team's progression
- Cultivate an environment that makes everyone feel valued and apply understanding of cultural differences to create value for the function
What we’re looking for:
- 12+ years of experience building and managing a team of creative strategists (or similar) and leading large-scale or complex advertising programs
- Seeking candidates with a breadth and diversity of experiences, educational backgrounds, and perspectives
- Proven track record of growing teams and impact across multiple international markets
- Deep understanding of advertising platforms and working within sales organizations
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated ability to make timely and quality decisions by synthesizing inputs, leveraging personal experience and role expertise, and determining the best course of action to keep the business moving forward
- A curious mindset that’s able to identify current and future strategic business challenges across multiple industries and then develop team plans to help achieve desired outcomes
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a multi-disciplinary, cross-functional team
- Capable of building credibility and fostering connections with senior executives and team members
- Skilled in fostering organizational growth and cultivating a team-oriented atmosphere
