Senior Product Designer

Our Role
At PSL, you’ll harness a diverse range of design and AI tools and methodologies to launch new businesses alongside world-class founders. We’re looking for a seasoned Senior Product Designer with deep expertise in design thinking, AI and visual design to lead product design and rapidly prototype innovative solutions.
You’ll collaborate closely with both the PSL core team and spinout founders, helping to shape the next generation of Pacific Northwest companies—from the ground up. Your work will directly influence the product, team, and company trajectory, turning bold ideas into market-defining businesses.

What you’ll do...
Ideate, Validate and Create
- Contribute to new company ideation by participating in brainstorming sessions to generate and refine breakthrough concepts.
- Collaborate with the PSL core team to develop and shape new venture ideas.
- Engage with customers and leverage AI to gather insights, synthesize voice-of-customer (VOC) learnings, and refine concepts for stronger market fit.
- Build and test brand prototypes, leveraging AI, data, and our validation framework to assess traction and inform the next steps.
Visual Communication
- Shape early-stage brand strategy through AI tools and workshops focused on naming, brand attributes, and voice.
- Use AI tools to create informative visuals and “baby brands” during the company testing phase, including crafting mood boards and brand concepts.
- Develop and apply brand systems consistently across product, marketing, and company touchpoints.
- Collaborate with the core and founding teams(s) to execute key business design initiatives,
- Build comprehensive style guides leveraging AI to document brand identity, messaging, and design principles for long-term consistency.
Product Design
- Conduct voice-of-customer interviews and distill insights to inform design decisions.
- Iterate concepts and prototypes, leveraging user research, market trends, and intuition to create impactful designs.
- Engage hands-on throughout all product phases—from strategy and prototyping to launch and optimization.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with PSL teams to translate business and feature requirements into intuitive, high-impact design solutions.
- Design engaging features that strengthen company value propositions and deliver delightful, seamless customer experiences.
- Translate brand identity into sophisticated, user-friendly interface designs.
- Validate designs with real users through testing and feedback loops.
- Develop customer personas and ideal customer profiles grounded in research.
- Establish and communicate design patterns to ensure a cohesive, intuitive experience across digital products.
- Refine and champion user-centered design processes, educating cross-functional teams on their strategic value.
Who You Are
We’re seeking high-performing, AI-driven innovators who thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a thoughtful and intentional approach to design. As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll blend logic and emotion to craft world-class experiences that push boundaries.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a Design or UX-related field of study or relative experience
- 6+ years of relevant brand and user interface design experience
- Efficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools
- Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit—has launched or explored startup ideas and may have even founded their own company.
- Passionate about AI and constantly exploring new tools, experimenting with workflows, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible
- A strong appetite for testing, learning, iterating, and improving
- A bias for action in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous, environment; an ownership attitude
- A deep sense of curiosity and proven ability to propose creative concepts during initial project phases and the ability to deliver on those ideas through detailed design
- Proven ability to solve complex UX problems and the product strategy skills to deliver best-in-class visual design solutions
Good at time management, weighing tradeoffs, and are self-driven
- Experience working in a highly iterative and collaborative environment where opinions are strong but loosely held
- Proficiency in designing user interfaces and experiences, including information architecture, user flows, wireframes, visual design, and prototypes that articulate product design
- Experience working individually and collaboratively and working directly with developers implementing their designs
The salary range for this position is $135,000-160,000. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, education, skill level, competencies, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for an equity grant.
