About the role

Plenty is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance team.  The Maintenance team troubleshoots, maintains, and continually improves our Industrial Automation equipment, ensuring our farms and offices are always operating at their best.  In this role, you will proactively and reactively maintain the operation of equipment and systems throughout the facility. What you'll do

  • Follow preventive maintenance procedures on all plant equipment and office facilities  in a timely and thorough manner. 
  • Maintain the operation of equipment and systems of the farm and offices including, but not limited to: building of office furniture, office installations, plumbing and facilities maintenance, plumbing, compressed air, HVAC, lighting, high speed conveyors and other machinery. 
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes. 
  • Communicate common failure modes and suggest corrective actions to eliminate root causes.
  • Partner with the General Manager, Office staff, Engineering and Safety teams in planning, ordering, installing new equipment
  • Troubleshoot and perform diagnostics on damaged or malfunctioning equipment; make repairs where necessary 
  • Make recommendations to the Maintenance Manager to arrange for outside vendors to service equipment. 
  • Respond to facility emergency situations and be a part of the safety team that promotes safe and healthy work culture.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives as it relates to building operations and practice safe work habits and escalate known safety concerns to the Maintenance Manager or the Health & Safety Manager
  • Occasionally moves items weighing up to 50 pounds across the facility
  • Other duties as assigned. Schedules will be reviewed periodically and are subject to change based on business needs

What you'll bring to the table

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 or more years of related work experience
  • Strong mechanical skills on electric motors, vacuum pumps, air compressors, HVAC, etc. 
  • Ability to accurately follow operation manuals, manufacturing and installation instructions, sketches, blueprints and diagrams
  • Must be willing to work evening and weekend shifts on occasion or rotating basis, able to work flexible hours and be part of the on-call rotation. Shift assignments can be discussed
  • Responsible, flexible, fast learner that has the ability to be a self-starter with a willingness to take on new things while maintaining full ownership of assigned area
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and consistently meet deadlines
  • Able to successfully keep multiple tasks running simultaneously with strong analytical skills
  • Able to provide constructive feedback and creative solutions to problems
  • Ability to work as On Call Coverage to support team as needed

Food Safety Requirements

  • Comply with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations
  • All applicants must be 18 years or older to apply
  • Comply with GMP/GAPS in the Facility
  • Conduct monitoring activities to assure finished product complies with food safety and quality specifications
  • Assist in the maintenance of Food Safety and Quality system
