DevOps Solution Architect

We are currently building out our DevOps Solution Architect team and looking for talented Solution Architects in both the U.S. and U.K. At Pure Storage, we empower customers to run stateful containers in production, earning recognition as a Gartner Cool Vendor. Our platform combines a high-performance, distributed storage system with integrated orchestration tools for container schedulers such as Kubernetes, Mesosphere, Rancher, Nomad, and Docker Swarm. Our customers range from Global 2000 enterprises to cloud-native startups, operating workloads both on-premises and across public clouds.

 

Role and Impact:

This is a senior technical role within the Customer Success team, designed for individuals passionate about helping customers achieve operational excellence with Portworx solutions.

  • Collaborate closely with customer architects and senior administrators to design, deploy, and optimize mission-critical applications, including databases, in containerized environments using Portworx.
  • Provide advanced escalation support for Technical Support Engineers.
  • Develop and lead joint integration solutions with technical partners, expanding the value of Portworx through enhanced interoperability.
  • Act as a technical advisor to support sales efforts, ensuring ongoing customer success and satisfaction.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and showcase customer-facing demos and reference architectures that demonstrate the benefits of Portworx in cloud-native and hybrid environments.
  • Create technical collateral such as deployment, implementation, and operations guides to facilitate seamless customer engagements.
  • Support daily customer integration and deployment needs, offering technical expertise and problem-solving throughout the Portworx solution lifecycle.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, providing technical expertise and guidance at all phases of deployment, particularly with key customers.

 

Relevant Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong foundation in compute infrastructure, storage systems, and container orchestration for both on-premise and cloud-based environments.
  • Advanced experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure, and familiarity with their respective storage and compute offerings.
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following areas:
  • Kubernetes (including Helm, operators, and custom resources)
  • OpenShift and Red Hat’s container ecosystem
  • Rancher and multi-cluster management capabilities
  • KubeVirt and virtualized workloads within Kubernetes clusters
  • Storage infrastructure, including distributed storage solutions, block and file storage, and cloud storage options
  • Experience in using DevOps and automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, and GitLab CI/CD to streamline deployment processes.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog or Splunk to support customer deployments.
  • Senior-level experience in a customer-facing role with a strong ability to translate complex technical solutions into actionable insights for customers.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interface with customers and collaborate with the Product Development team to resolve escalations and drive continuous improvement.
