Pure Storage is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented certification professional to lead and enhance our presales technical certification and accreditation programs within Global Enablement.
The Program Manager of Technical Certification will take a structured approach to managing and evolving Pure’s presales technical certification and accreditation programs, with a primary focus on technical certification for our Systems Engineers (SEs). This individual will manage our existing FlashArray and FlashBlade Architect Associate & Professional certifications and associated practice exams, while also driving the development of new certification and accreditation initiatives.
Aligned with Pure’s overall enablement strategy and our vision for an optimal technical seller experience, this role will be instrumental in ensuring our certifications and accreditations are relevant, impactful, and effectively communicated. This exceptional contributor will assess, develop, and release updates to our certification programs and exams, maintain excellent documentation, and manage communications to support world-class technical validation for our SEs and partners.
This role will report to the director of Technical Enablement, of Global Technical Enablement, in Pure’s Global Enablement group.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with assessment services providers, assessment tool vendors, and both internal and external subject matter experts to ensure our certification programs align with audience needs and goals. Additionally, you will work with Technical Enablement’s curriculum development and instructor teams to integrate certification objectives with training content. A key responsibility will be driving awareness of certification programs among field and partner SEs, ensuring they have access to the necessary training and resources for success. You will also work directly with candidates to troubleshoot issues, providing guidance and support to ensure a smooth certification experience. By fostering cross-functional collaboration, you will play a pivotal role in scaling Pure’s technical enablement efforts and enhancing overall productivity. This high-impact role offers the opportunity to shape the future of Pure’s presales technical certification strategy and directly contribute to the productivity, credibility, and success of our global technical teams.
Role Impact:
- Together with the Manager, Global GSO Competencies, develop and maintain certification roadmaps and processes by collaborating with stakeholders across Technical Enablement, Product Management, Marketing, and Sales to ensure alignment with Pure’s presales technical strategy and overall enablement objectives.
- Together with the Manager, Global GSO Competencies, use data-driven insights from the Global Enablement domain analysis project outputs to enhance certification development, providing evidence-based recommendations for exam updates and blueprint revisions to ensure alignment.
- Support and measure the impact of Pure’s presales technical certifications and accreditations for SEs and partners, ensuring these programs drive measurable skill development and readiness while aligning with the GSO’s enablement goals.
- Enhance the candidate experience by managing certification communications, troubleshooting candidate issues, and refining exam administration processes to maximize efficiency, accessibility, clarity, and overall program efficacy.
- Drive collaboration across teams by working closely with internal teams, external vendors and internal and external SMEs to maintain high-quality, psychometrically sound, and job-relevant certifications and accreditations.
- Champion cross-functional alignment by engaging with Sales, Partner teams, and sales leaders across the globe to increase certification adoption, awareness, and participation, ensuring a strong connection between technical validation and business impact.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...
- Strategic Certification Program Management: Proven ability to design, develop, and manage technical certification and accreditation programs that align with organizational goals and enablement strategies.
- Assessment Development & Administration: Familiarity with exam blueprinting, question development, and validation processes, working with SMEs and assessment vendors to maintain high-quality certifications.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work effectively with multiple assessment services and product vendors, SMEs, curriculum developers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth certification development and delivery.
- Clear Communication & Stakeholder Engagement – Able to explain certification processes, requirements, and value to technical audiences, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
- Project management contributions that consistently enabled sales excellence (development & oversight of valuable product and solution content that enabled adequate preparation for presales certifications).
- Demonstrated success with technical development programs.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Successful stakeholder management while working on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Experience working with psychometric tools.
- BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience with accreditation(s).
- We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
The annual base salary range is: $99,000.00– $168,000.00
Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.
This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
