Internal Audit Intern

Our Internal Audit team plays a crucial role in strengthening our company’s control environment and driving operational excellence across the organization. As an Internal Audit intern, you’ll be directly involved in evaluating and improving our SOX compliance processes, operational effectiveness, and information systems through hands-on experience with full-cycle audit projects. Working alongside experienced audit professionals, you’ll help identify risks, test controls, and recommend practical solutions that drive meaningful improvements across the business. You’ll gain exposure to various departments and leaders while developing a deep understanding of how different business units operate and interact. Things You’ll Do
- Support the execution of internal audit projects from planning through reporting, including risk assessment, control testing, and documentation of findings to strengthen the company's control environment
- Assist in SOX compliance testing and documentation by evaluating key controls, identifying gaps, and recommending process improvements that enhance operational efficiency
- Analyze data using various tools and technologies to identify trends, anomalies, and potential risk areas, contributing to more effective audit procedures and meaningful insights
- Collaborate with business partners across departments to gather information, conduct interviews, and document processes while building strong working relationships
- Create clear and concise audit documentation, including process flowcharts and testing workpapers that support audit conclusions and recommendations
- Support special projects and investigations as needed, including data analysis, process mapping, and control design evaluation to drive continuous improvement across the organization
What We’re Looking For On Your Resume
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Strong academic performance with relevant coursework in accounting, auditing, or information systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with data analysis tools is preferred
- Previous internship or work experience demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills is a plus
- Knowledge of or exposure to internal controls, risk management concepts, or business process analysis is beneficial
- Experience with visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) or programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python) is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to work 20 hours per week during the internship period, with the potential to work up to 30 hours per week in the summer (June - August)
