As a Partner/account executive (Commercial Partnerships) Japan, you will be a vital member of the business development Japan team and play a critical role in realizing the overall strategy and direction of our organization. You will be the primary driver in implementing and executing the long-term strategy set by the Global and APAC commercial partnership management team with partners across APAC, mainly focusing on Japan. You will support the business development cycle from onboarding, service delivery, and renewing partnerships.
Partner/account management exists to ensure all revenue goals are met for Riot Games by managing and building valuable alliances, provide excellent support to our sponsors and business partners, and drive revenue across esports sponsorship, esports broadcast licensing, and co-marketing opportunities for games and entertainment.
Partner/account manager focuses on managing Riot Games' VALORANT and League of Legends esports league sponsors and partners while also sources new revenue opportunities.
The annual objectives of the role include:
- Sustained high satisfaction of partners/accounts
- Managing partner relations to increase sponsorship renewal rates
- Keeping track of annual achievements in revenue (in annual USD)
- Retention of existing and acquisition of new esports partners
- Sourcing and seeding B2B partnerships that meet esports product objectives
Responsibilities:
- Execute renewal discussions and procedures for existing partnerships
- Seek and identify new and incremental opportunities for existing partners across Riot’s ever-expanding portfolio of products
- Prepare and deliver partner program recap reporting, including collection and analysis of performance data and communication of key learning and optimization recommendations
- Serve as Riot’s primary point of contact for all aspects of partners’ sponsorship marketing campaign, from ideation and planning to execution
- Collaborate and build strong relationships with internal cross-functional teams and key partner contacts, including but not limited to Broadcast, Content, Business Development, Events, Marketing, Social Media, PR, & Player Support
- Support the team to represent partnership needs, objectives, and deliverables in internal work streams and to work seamlessly with cross-functional internal teams to ensure that partner programs are executed at the highest level and per contractual obligations
- Develop and maintain relationships with prospective and current partners across gaming and non-gaming verticals
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Account Management, Partnership Management, Sponsorships, or Marketing in APAC
- Strong analytical skills and background, with demonstrated ability to use data to power decision making
- Self-starter with eagerness and ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize work assignments, meet deadlines and work independently/collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- High knowledge of digital goods industries and videogames
- Negotiation capable fluency in Japanese and business level English
