Roblox’s Safety Operations team is dedicated to protecting our users and developers from individuals who want to harm other users and our platform, within the online environment and off-platform. The Critical Harms Intelligence, Investigations, and Operations (CHIIOPS) team applies subject-matter expertise to our highest-level risks, and works with cross-functional partners to identify and mitigate these actors.
Please note: This role may review graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive content in line with Roblox’s policies. This role will also require some on-call support.
You will report to the Critical Harms Intelligence, Investigations, and Operations Manager.
You will:
- Lead and implement our enforcement strategy on escalations related to Suicide & Self Harm, Real Life Threats, and other dangerous/high risk activities, providing crucial support to keep our users safe.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Legal, Customer Service, and Content Policy to identify and solve operational barriers.
- Manage global, time-sensitive critical issues and incidents.
- You will be an expert in Roblox's internal and external safety policies, be familiar with the tools we use to keep our users safe, and be able to make data-driven decisions on how to improve the company's overall escalation ecosystem.
- Oversee and guide vendor agent processes and metrics.
You have:
- 4+ years of experience performing operations management, internal and external relationship building, and cross-functional collaboration to achieve safety operations goals.
- Ability to exert leadership over your area of responsibility, including making recommendations to various levels of XFN leaders, build productive relationships with key Safety stakeholders, and demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated expertise about online abuse types related to Suicide and Self Harm, Real-Life Threats, and Dangerous Activities, and ability to quickly, independently, and maturely prioritize urgent risks and make judgment calls on sensitive content.
- Experience working with external entities such as law enforcement, federal agencies, or NGOs on relevant issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, international studies, a related field or equivalent experience.
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
