About the team:
The Information Security organization advances the overall state of security at Rubrik through critical initiatives and coordination of large security projects. Information Security builds technologies, tools, and processes to better enable teams at Rubrik to develop secure software and protect data and systems with appropriate security controls. Information Security also develops systems to monitor and respond to attacks against our assets, provides awareness education to teams on security best practices for data protection, and ensures data governance and data sharing relationships with third parties in order to securely protect Rubrik information.
About the Role:
Rubrik is seeking an Information Security Program Manager to work closely with cross-functional teams—including Product, Engineering, Information Security, Privacy, and Legal—to manage and produce high-quality technical documentation, whitepapers, blogs, and other communication materials. This role will ensure that security, privacy, and compliance are deeply integrated into our products while also communicating complex technical concepts to both internal stakeholders and external audiences in a clear and accessible way.
What You’ll Do:
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, Information Security, Privacy, and Legal teams to gather information, define requirements, and create technical whitepapers and customer facing documentation related to the Information Security program at Rubrik..
- Act as a liaison to facilitate clear communication between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment on security and compliance initiatives.
Documentation & Content Creation:
- Author and contribute to internal and external whitepapers, blogs, and thought leadership pieces that promote the company’s security practices and posture.
- Write and maintain security-focused product guides, policies, and best practices that provide clarity to both technical teams and customers.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive information security technical documentation, such as system architectures, security protocols, risk management strategies, and incident response plans.
Compliance & Security Awareness:
- Contribute to the creation of materials that help educate employees, customers, and partners on security best practices, product security features, and privacy regulations.
- Ensure that all documentation accurately reflects the company’s security practices and legal obligations.
Program Management:
- Lead and manage information security initiatives that involve cross-functional teams, ensuring timely delivery of security documentation and communication materials.
- Track progress on security documentation projects, managing timelines and resources effectively.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on the status of security-related documentation and communication efforts.
Thought Leadership:
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging threats, and security best practices to create relevant and authoritative content for the company.
- Represent the company in external forums (e.g., industry conferences, webinars) by delivering presentations or publishing content related to information security.
Experience You’ll Need:
- 6+ years of experience in information security, with at least 2 years in a program management role.
- Strong experience in writing technical documentation, including whitepapers, blogs, security reports, and policy documents.
- Experience working closely with Product, Engineering, Privacy, and Legal teams, ideally in a fast-paced, tech-focused environment.
- Familiarity with information security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS) and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex security concepts for a variety of audiences.
- Strong project management skills, with experience managing cross-functional initiatives.
- Knowledge of privacy and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2) and the ability to create documentation that aligns with these standards.
- Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment on security and privacy goals.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, CIPP, CSSLP) are a plus.
