About The Role:
The Senior Hardware Engineer will implement hardware development programs from inception to product shipment. Will work with Rubrik’s operations team and Server OEMs to develop, support, and sustain Rubrik’s Cloud Data Management appliances. Will develop and review test plans and qualify server x86 enterprise platforms from HPE, Dell, Cisco, and Supermicro. Will Qualify Storage Hard Drives Solid State Drives (NVMe M.2, U.2, SATA, SAS, SSD’s),and firmware from Seagate, Toshiba, Samsung, Western Digital, and Kioxia. Qualify Network adapters from Mellanox, Broadcom, and Intel, which can be integrated for sustaining Rubrik appliances. Will develop and execute automated test scripts. Will investigate, triage, and debug hardware/system level issues down to component – hard drive, Network, Platform components and to the firmware level. Drive technical issues to closure by working with internal and field engineers to build customer test environments, identify and track root cause to resolve customer and field issues. Will work with Rubrik’s application teams internally and will provide support to run them on both Rubrik Appliances and 3rd party server systems. Other duties as assigned.
Experience you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics, or related technical field (or foreign equivalent)
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in the job offered or related hardware engineering position.
Preferred qualifications:
- 1 year of experience testing x86 server hardware with network adapters of different speeds and different disk controllers.
- 1 year of experience with NVMe M.2, U.2, SATA, SAS SSD’s on servers
- 1 year of experience planning schedules, drafting SOP’s, and writing up test instructions. (This includes test bed setup and testing and planning and estimating the duration for test phases).
- 1 year of experience validating firmware, software deliverables of customer products and reporting bugs, as well as testing on various server firmware and driver deliverables.
- 3 years’ experience installing Windows, Linux, and VMware operating systems on Enterprise Servers
