Who You Are

You are a strong well-rounded Senior Accountant, bringing your experience in accounting, month-end close, statutory accounting and direct and indirect tax to this role. In this role, you will be part of our growing Finance team. You will be responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the financial data for selected legal entities, in addition to ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of financial transactions.

This is an ideal role for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced and high growth environment, working hands-on and developing a function from its current manual state to an automated one. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact at a high-growth Unicorn.

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for maintaining the general ledger
  • Accounting tasks include maintenance of fixed asset ledgers, payroll accounting,accruals and prepayments, FX revaluation, some bank posting and reconciliation, etc
  • Preparing input for the closing process (vacation accruals, etc.)
  • Prepare/review quarterly reconciliations of all BS accounts
  • Analyze income statement and balance sheet variances for your assigned entities
  • Support external audit requirements
  • Preparation and post the intercompany calculations and invoice
  • Preparation/ reviewing VAT and other reporting requirements (Reports to National Bank, Statistical Office)
  • Preparation of selected statutory financial statements
  • Collaborate and support other departments such as Accounts Payable, Accounts, Receivable, Tax, Treasury, and others, to ensure accurate accounting for their areas
  • Participate in projects and improvement of processes, particularly in relation to our NetSuite implementation

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience working in accounting and tax (direct & indirect) for Poland and other European countries
  • Experience in consolidations would be a plus
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or similar, with a professional accounting qualification preferred
  • Knowledge of IFRS/US GAAP
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and other accounting-related technology
  • Experience with tech (software/SaaS) companies is preferred
  • Team player with great interpersonal skills
  • A desire to acquire fresh knowledge and enhance existing processes/policies
  • Process-orientation, organized, diligent, detail-oriented, well-structured
  • Proactive and independent working style with a good sense of when to escalate issues
  • Able to work independently on your own initiative and as part of a team
  • High degree of flexibility in handling new assignments and the ability to adapt to change in the work environment
  • As our business language is English, strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required
