We’re looking for an exceptional Senior Engineering Leader to lead and grow the Snowflake SRE function and team. This team is responsible for Snowflake multiple cloud provider infrastructure, and support of production systems in every Snowflake region. You will be leading a team of talented software engineers to build the system that optimizes and scales the platform for existing and future applications.

AS AN ENGINEERING MANAGER AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO:

• Set the strategic vision for your team and be accountable for team plans and deliverables
• Develop and establish the SRE discipline across Cloud Engineering
• Guide and lead team to build and develop software solutions for scaling infrastructure
• Drive team projects from idea formulation, through design and implementation collaborating with partner teams
• Be able to shift resources across areas and projects to achieve execution goals and to respond to lessons from customer and production issues
• Provide strong technical leadership to the team with a focus on quality, performance, and security
• Foster a culture of creativity and innovation while also promoting practical decision-making
• Grow and build a strong, healthy, and diverse team by participating in all steps of the recruiting process from sourcing to closing
• Be responsible for the career development of your reports, providing continuous mentorship and coaching
• Collaborate with other engineering teams and cross functional teams in Dublin Warsaw and world-wide

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• 15+ years of industry experience software engineering experience
• 5+ years of engineering management experience
• Strong hands-on experience with cloud-based platforms preferred (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure, GCP)
• 3+ years of experience with container orchestration technologies; preferably, Kubernetes
• A product development approach to delivering modern Cloud Infrastructure at scale.
• Proven track record of attracting, recruiting, hiring, leading and growing technical teams
• Rock solid engineering fundamentals with experience designing  distributed systems. 
• Experience in a SaaS,  and deep experience working at scale in large scale  production environments.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related majors, or equivalent experience
