For this new position on the Global Benefits team, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Manager of Benefits for the US, who will play a critical role in taking our programs and operations to the next level. This position will report directly to the Director, Americas Benefits and will be located out of our Dublin, CA or San Mateo, CA Snowflake office at least 3 days per week.
The person hired for the role will lead a team of experienced program managers who are responsible for managing the day-to-day operational Benefits programs including vendor management. You’ll collaborate closely with our Benefits team program managers, and internal partners, such as Compensation, Equity, Global Mobility, HR Advisors, HR Business Partners, Payroll, Finance, Accounting, Treasury and Legal.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Team Oversight and Collaboration: Provide direct oversight of all US-based Benefits Programs, vendor partnerships, policies, processes and identify optimization opportunities to further develop and evolve Snowflake’s benefit programs. Provide direction, support and mentoring for team member development. Collaborate with other Benefits Team Regional Managers (EMEA, APAC) on Global Benefit initiatives.
- Comprehensive Benefit Administration: Oversee and ensure compliance for all US benefit programs including enrollment system, medical/pharmacy, dental, vision, Life Insurance and Disability, Modern Family programs, our 401(k), Spending and Saving Accounts, and Wellness plans.
- Employee Communication & Support: Oversee Benefit Team communication campaigns (Open Enrollment, Benefit Blogs, etc.) in effectively communicating benefit plans to employees. Act as the primary contact for Benefit team members consulting on complex benefit issues and cases.
- Vendor & Consultant Coordination: Collaborate with benefit consultants and plan provider leadership teams to ensure seamless administration and strategic program oversight. In partnership with the Benefits broker/consultant, conduct research and analysis to recommend new benefit programs that keep Snowflake competitive and cost-effective, including managing various Requests for Proposals on benefit program solutions.
- Strategic Program Management: Support the vision, analysis, research, communication, and administration of strategic benefit programs. Align these programs with the company’s growth strategy, business objectives, and talent acquisition and retention goals.
- Technology & Systems Oversight: Manage and configure the systems and technology that support benefit plans and eligibility. Work closely with Payroll, HRIS (Workday), and HR Shared Services to ensure an exceptional employee experience.
- Financial Analysis & Budgeting: Collaborate with Benefits Team Leadership on budgeting and financial analysis of benefit programs. Monitor high-cost claims, target problem and trend areas, and ensure accurate budget planning and tracking.
- Wellness Program Management: Oversee existing disease management and wellness programs, analyze their effectiveness, and recommend new initiatives.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all benefit programs comply with governmental regulations and labor laws, including ERISA, FMLA, and HIPAA. Provide oversight for all required testing, audits, and SOX compliance.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:
- 15+ years of experience with at least 8+ years of US Benefits Management/Leadership experience ideally in a high-growth, scaling, technology environment.
- Ability to provide oversight and guidance to team members, enabling continuous development and professional growth, on a variety of projects and initiatives.
- Experience managing US Benefit programs with a deep understanding of ERISA.
- Experience with global/multi-national and matrixed organizations.
- Ability to adapt and drive operational optimization, program and process improvements and continuously simplify processes to enhance the employee experience.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems; lead cross-organizational efforts; build relationships across organization boundaries; commitment to quality and continuous improvement; analysis skills and detail-oriented.

- Systems experience: Workday, Excel, PowerPoint and G-suite (Gmail, Google Calendar, G-Drive, etc.).
