We're looking for a talented and motivated Senior Research Scientist to join our research team specializing in the field of LLMs, NLP, and AI. In this role, you will have the opportunity to leverage your expertise to contribute to the development of cutting-edge AI solutions (e.g. new multi-modal LLMs for document understanding functionality) that will later be integrated into the Snowflake platform making a significant impact on the company’s portfolio.

AS A RESEARCH SCIENTIST AT SNOWFLAKE YOU WILL:

  • Think creatively to find optimal solutions to our complex, often ambiguous problems.
  • Participate in all stages of the developing new LLM-based solutions in the domain of unstructured data processing.
  • Work closely with other research, engineering, business teams to understand and shape the short and long term product development strateg.
  • Serve as a mentor to less experienced researchers, engineers, and product managers.
  • Answer questions from the executive team for board reporting, publications, and industry reports.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • 7+ years industry or academic experience in the field of AI.
  • 3+ years experience writing production quality scalable code using Python to build NLP models (working on Information Extraction or LLMs problems will be a plus). 
  • Expert level knowledge working with Python and Deep Learning libraries such as PyTorch or Tensorflow.
  • Familiar with recent advances in NLP/CV and/or knowledge working with Deep Learning libraries such as PyTorch or Tensorflow is a big plus.
  • Familiar with recent advances in NLP/CV with deep understanding of the basic classes of ML/DL algorithms (also the underlying assumptions).
  • Reasonable prior exposure to best practices in the software development lifecycle, and a commitment to implementing these practices appropriately in the context.
  • High levels of curiosity and eager enthusiasm for open-ended problems. Experience and interest in problem formulation based on relatively abstract information.
  • Ability to articulate results and complex concepts to leadership.
  • Must be able to produce solutions independently in an organized manner, work in a team and also be able to leading a team when required.
  • Ph.D. in Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or in related fields will be considered as a strong asset.
  • Proven track record in top-tier conferences from AI/NLP domain will be a strong asset.
