Min: $26/hour         Max: $29/hour

Position Summary:

Sonic’s Construction Coordinator I is responsible for coordinating construction efforts through in-house and contract labor for new construction and rebuild projects. The Construction Coordinator I is responsible for the closeout of post construction work and resolving GO-95/Plant issues as they arise. The Coordinator I position will work with vendors and subcontractors to ensure that all clean up work is completed timely and accurately.

Position Type:

The Construction Coordinator I is a full-time (40 hours per week), non-exempt/hourly position, full benefits. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday 6am-3pm.  Some overtime work should be expected for this position.

 

Travel:

Travel is expected for this position. A valid California Driver’s License and Clean DMV is required. A company vehicle will be provided for business use.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read and understand Blueprints and engineering files to compare with actual build in the field.
  • Provide field constructability reviews and corrections to engineering plans through personal inspections and delegated workload.
  • The ability to identify and document GO 95 and NESC violations in the field.
  • Coordinate with engineers and project management in designing revisions to plant. Draw and sketch installation and location of equipment such as splice cabinets, cable routes, utility poles and pole anchors.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to terms and conditions of agreements.
  • Perform site inspections for quality control.
  • Communicate with management or designated supervisor regarding concerns about construction progress.
  • Review and process failed inspections or gigs.
  • Provide detailed updates to schedules and production rates on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.

 

Job Requirements:

  • 0-2 Years Cable Television or Telecommunications Technical Experience.
  • Strong basic computer skills with Microsoft Office, Excel, Google Sheets is a must.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code and G.O. 95 preferred.
  • Clean DMV record and background check required.
  • Ability to prioritize competing tasks with deadlines.
  • Extreme organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner.
  • Knowledge of telecommunication products and services.
  • Ability to problem solve in technical situations.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

Daily driving is expected. The Construction Coordinator is exposed to varying climates and elements, determined by Mother Nature. Extreme heat, rain, dust and wind are to be expected.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to sit and stand; talk or hear; reach with hands and arms; key/type. The employee is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
