SR. BUSINESS ANALYST, FINANCE (STARLINK)

The Starlink Accounting Operations team was designed to rapidly adapt to the ludicrous growth of SpaceX’s Starlink global internet business. As a member of the newly created function, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing a scalable world-class accounting function. This is an individual contributor role, reporting to accounting leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop short and long-term solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across reporting and analytics.
  • Facilitate and define reporting and analytics business requirements by working cross-functionally with the growth, account management, customer operations, Starlink accounting, international accounting, tax, FP&A, and software development teams.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews to understand current processes and identify improvement opportunities, while creating process documentation, maps, and business requirements.
  • Lead user acceptance testing in lockstep with all software development releases to our internally built ERP.
  • Develop and execute the sales cycle process and systems roadmap and maintain project cadence by delivering/overseeing the delivery of project plans, analysis, deliverables, trackers, and other key documents.
  • Create and maintain the accounting key reports relied upon as sources of truth across the business.
  • Design/facilitate training sessions and contribute to planning and coordination with cross functional stakeholders to ensure new features and reporting solutions are rolled out swiftly.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, computer science, finance, business, data science or other computational disciplines.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in accounting, finance, finance operations, or data assurance.
  • 3+ years of professional experience with SQL and BI tools (PowerBI).

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in accounting, FP&A, or finance operations for technology companies with global sales.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and comfort working with large data sets.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to regularly interface with executive management.
  • Experience working on multi-stakeholder initiatives with strong collaboration skills in a global environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new technology, driving automation into processes, and using data and trend analyses to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, communicate effectively with stakeholders at various levels, and be resourceful and solution-oriented in ambiguous situations.
  • Self-starter, results-oriented individual with strong interpersonal communication skills, exceptional personal accountability, and ethical standards. Capable of influencing without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve current state practices, own end-to-end processes, and map and optimize existing processes.
  • Experience in a scripting language such as Python.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • CPA license or equivalent.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work extended hours during critical periods.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • This position is based in Hawthorne, CA (Los Angeles area), and requires being onsite full-time – hybrid and remote work will not be considered.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: 

Pay range: 

Sr. Business Analyst: $110,000.00 - $145,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
