The Revenue Accounting team is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to support the day-to-day processes that are vital to our financial operations. In this entry-level role, you will assist with billing, cash collection, revenue recognition, and reconciliation tasks within the revenue cycle. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional eager to gain hands-on experience and learn the end-to-end revenue accounting process in a dynamic, rapidly growing SaaS business.

This is a hybrid role working from our NYC office. You will report to the Revenue Accounting Senior Manager.

You'll Get To…

  • Set up revenue recognition and invoicing schedules for our enterprise and revenue share programs in accordance with contract terms and ASC 606
  • Send invoices to customers, accurately apply cash receipts, and work cross-functionally to resolve any billing disputes
  • Maintain and review accounts receivable aging and assist with collections of past due accounts for customers
  • Record monthly journal entries related to accounts receivable, sales tax, deferred revenue and revenue as a part of month-end close
  • Perform reconciliations as part of the month end close process and assist with other ad hoc reconciliations
  • Assist with sales commission calculations and act as a liaison for our channels and services team with real-time updates on billing and collections from customers
  • Be proactive in identifying and proposing ways to improve processes across the revenue accounting organization

Who We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1 year prior accounting experience
  • Exceptional collaboration to work with teams across the organization and externally with customers
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel required
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606 - Revenue from Contracts with Customers preferred
  • Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce preferred

Cash Compensation Range: $60,500 - $80,000 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to receive an incentive award as part of their total compensation.
