Here at sweetgreen’s Automation Team we’re at the forefront of restaurant automation. Our meal assembly automation - the Infinite Kitchen - operates daily at several of our sweetgreen locations across the country, but we are just getting started. As we expand our footprint of Infinite Kitchens, we are seeking an Automation Project Manager, Maintenance to support our automation maintenance program and ensure the smooth operation of our Infinite Kitchens across the country.

This is an ideal role for someone with project management experience and a strong technical background in engineering.

This is a full time role based in Boston with up to 25% travel to our restaurants.

What You'll Do:

  • Own, improve, and consolidate our maintenance tracking systems including our Jira board to meet the needs of our maintenance technicians and maintenance manager.
  • Assist our maintenance team with keeping tickets updated, and help resolve blockers. Update our back-end systems with health statuses across stores.
  • Partner with our Maintenance Manager to plan future maintenance trips, mapping our priorities and blockers. Collaborate closely and support our technicians on field work.
  • Coordinate and guide simple repairs remotely with third party technicians or restaurant managers, including parts shipment, tracking & communication with restaurant managers.
  • Build a documentation playbook for common third party or head coach field repairs (including videos) to make the program more scalable.
  • Provide guidance to our head coaches regarding recurring issues, helping build best practices. Build a strong relationship with our head coaches.
  • Build, own and update our suite of maintenance documentation, keeping it concise, accurate and meticulously up-to-date.
  • Respond promptly to simple incoming support tickets and triage complex issues to our engineering teams. Ensure clear, friendly and timely communication with restaurant managers.
  • Identify repeated issues, improve documentation of response to these issues, and report them to design engineering as opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with sweetgreen’s facilities teams on commodity equipment maintenance and repair (refrigeration, plumbing, air compressor). Own and build the relationship ensuring clear communication and goals.
  • Help build and maintain our spare parts programs, working with our contract manufacturer, our engineering team and our distribution vendor for spare parts.
  • Participate in the weekly on-call rotation for 24/7 phone support to our restaurants.
Who You Are:
  • 2+ years of program or project management experience in hardware
  • Excellent communicator and team player, capable of building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, especially our restaurant managers. Comfortable communicating over email, phone, video calls and in person.
  • Experience and strong expertise using project management tools, especially Jira
  • Mechanically and technically inclined, capable of walking someone through simple repair tasks remotely. Willing and capable of getting into the technical weeds and solving technical issues.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented, capable of writing excellent documentation and keeping it meticulously updated.
  • Process driven and problem solver, proactively identifying issues and improving workflows.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
 

Salary range for this role:
Starting salary range based on experience
$100,000$140,000 USD
