Haw Creek Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Assistant to work alongside our team of experienced veterinarians, skilled technicians, and devoted support staff to ensure each animal receives the best possible care during their stay with us. Haw Creek Animal Hospital offers care for urgent and emergency cases alongside routine appointments. Salary: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
Schedule: This position requires flexibility with some evenings and Saturdays. The typical day shift runs from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional variations. Evening shifts are generally from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with some changes based on scheduling needs. Saturday shifts are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and vet techs during examinations, treatments, and surgeries
- Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
- Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as collecting blood, urine, and stool samples
- Administer medications and vaccinations under the supervision of a veterinarian
- Feed, bathe, and exercise animals as needed
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Communicate with pet owners about their pets’ care, treatment plans, and follow-up visits
- Clean and maintain the clinic, including stocking supplies and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment

Qualifications:
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification is preferred, it’s not required—we’re happy to train the right candidate!
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
- Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
- Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
