This position is fully remote within +/- 2h of Paris. 

Team

Our Gaming team is made up of hybrid-casual, casual, and mid-core experts. Our 'Core' games team supports internal and external studios worldwide in creating, developing, and launching new hit games, whilst our 'Live' games team focuses on delivering higher engagement on our existing and successful games.

Joining our Live games team means collaborating with gaming industry experts on globally renowned, enduring games while embracing exciting new entrepreneurial ventures. With over seven billion downloads worldwide and a portfolio of more than 10 resilient hybrid games generating more than $20m per year, we are the world's largest and most successful hybrid publisher.

As part of our product strategy, we are currently elevating a live game from its hyper-casual roots into a casual-midcore title with increased production values, rich in-game features, and enhanced player experiences.

Role 

As a Game Artist focusing on Concept Art and 3D Modelling, you will play a vital role in shaping the visual identity of Paper.io 2. Collaborating closely with the Art Director, you will create, develop, and integrate stunning game assets, elevating the production quality of our live games as we transition them into the casual-midcore space..

  • Art Creation:
  • Design and produce high-quality concept art for characters, environments, props, and UI elements.
  • Create low-poly 3D models, including texturing, to meet both technical and artistic requirements.
  • Work on illustrations for icons or stylised assets that align with the game’s aesthetic.

  • Collaboration:
  • Partner with the Art Director to align on visual style and direction.
  • Work closely with other team members, including VFX and animation artists, to ensure seamless integration of assets.
  • Actively contribute to team discussions, offering creative input and feedback.

  • Integration & Problem-Solving:
  • Implement assets directly into Unity, ensuring they work harmoniously with gameplay mechanics.
  • Resolve any technical challenges related to asset performance and visual fidelity.

  • Conceptualisation:
  • Gather references, brainstorm ideas, and create mock-ups that clearly communicate the artistic vision.
  • Contribute to the creative direction by delivering compelling and innovative designs.

  • Profile

  • Experience:
  • 3+ years as a Game Artist, preferably in the mobile gaming industry.
  • Experience in LiveOps environments and a portfolio showcasing expertise in concept art and 3D modelling.
  • Strong capabilities in concept art, including a keen eye for detail, composition, and style.
  • Ability to adapt to different visual styles and produce assets that align with the game’s vision.

  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Skilled in tools like Maya, Blender, Unity, and Photoshop.
  • Proficient in low-poly modelling and texturing pipelines; familiarity with Maya rigging workflows is a plus.

  • Communication:
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Resourceful and proactive, with the ability to troubleshoot and iterate effectively.

  • Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in VFX creation or animation.
  • Strong illustration skills, particularly in icon design.
  • A background in rigging characters in Maya or contributing to animation pipelines.
